Hi, Pastor John.
In reading December 9th’s excerpt from the Father and Son book, these questions came to mind:
Question #1:
When did God give Satan the Earth to rule?”
==========
We are not told, but I assume it was after Adam ate the forbidden fruit, thus trusting and submitting himself to Satan and his word instead of trusting and obeying God’s.
On the other hand, even before Adam sinned, God could have entrusted care of the earth to Satan as a good thing. There is no reason why God could not have done that, as part of His organization of His creation.
==========
Question #2:
The question of why God gave Satan rule over Earth also came up for me. Was God tired of human sin?
==========
Whenever God did that, it was for the good of people, especially those who belong to Him. Sinners who follow Satan’s lead behave better than do sinners who will not submit to any authority. Satan loves order, and those who are like him love it, too.
==========
Question #3:
Why didn’t God just give Satan another creation of his to rule?
==========
…and just leave us in peace? That is how people think of Satan, but it is not how things really are. The human race would probably be even worse off than it is now if Satan wasn’t around, trying to keep people is some kind of decent order.
==========
Question #4:
Did Jesus send back the Holy Spirit as a compromise to his Father’s curse of Earth through sending Satan to rule?
==========
No, he send back the Spirit to save us from our sin, just because he loves us. Satan wishes he was important enough to be the reason God sent us his Spirit.
==========
Wow, that single excerpt from the Father and Son book brought up a lot of questions for me 🙂
Lots of love,
Allison

I think it is wonderful that you are thinking on spiritual things. Jesus has answers for us if we just ask, as you have done. And his answers will set us free from the diseased thoughts of Christian superstition. I am so thankful for that!
Lots of love back to you and Brad!
