Good evening Pastor Clark,
During a recent prayer, His Spirit explained prayer is good, but I wasn’t working. I was confused but remembered you stating something about having to work at it. I tried reading the bible. As was my usual habit, I started in the new testament, which led to much confusion in me. He led me to your Old Testament course on line yesterday.* Many times I have been on that site and not noticed it. I did the intro and have gotten a bible with no footnotes now and have ordered an atlas.
I started reading Genesis and the second verse, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, stood out to me. I have read this numerous times and never thought about this. Is this the Holy Ghost? I always thought the Holy Ghost was manifested when Jesus died. Reading today I feel like It has been around from the beginning of time. Or is this one of the mysteries that I shouldn’t concern myself over? I have always been one too look under the porch to see what was holding it up. I am feeling much better and stronger now that I have work to do and know what it is.
Also, I tried to find All Things on the web pages but it doesn’t come up. Is that the title?
Thanks
Mark

Hi, Mark.
You will do well to go through the Old Testament, but do not do too much. Don’t read ahead, and don’t read commentaries. Stick with the class schedule. Jesus has given me a gift to teach the Old Testament, and you will learn it well if you will just follow the very simple directions I give.
The Spirit is God’s life. It has always been. No one but God and His Son had it within them until the day of Pentecost, but it has always been there, speaking through the prophets.
The All Things book has been renamed. It is now called, “Suffering and the Saints”.**
Keep me updated on how your Old Testament study goes!
