Pastor John,
After reading through all three parts of your blog on Lawlessness, the scriptures below came to mind, and how Jesus loved this man who had kept the Law. I have had people ask me about this scripture, and I wondered if my explanation was correct. I said this was Jesus’ commandment to this man, not to everyone. I hope I was close to the mark.

Mark 10:
- You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery; Do not murder; Do not steal; Do not bear false witness; Do not defraud; Honor your father and mother.”
- Then he answered and said to him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth.”
- Then Jesus, looking intently at him, loved him, and he said to him, “There is one thing lacking in you. Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and then, when you have taken up the cross, come, follow me.”

Hi Wendell,
You were right on the mark. This was not a commandment for all believers at all times. Jesus saw what this man’s weakness was and was trying to help him overcome it.
