Hey Pastor John.
When we read Acts 7 last night and read about Stephen I had the same feelings I had about Hannah in 1Samuel.
I had always read right over Hannah’s story until I listened to you teach about her in an Old Testament class. I love her faith and steadfastness to God. I fell in love with her! She’s one I hope to meet one day.
After reading about Stephen last night I just could not get past him.
We don’t know anything about him until Acts 7 but wow! After reading, I kept thinking of him being brought before the high priest and answering the charges against him. That took something! I thought what strength and encouragement it was for him to look up and see Jesus standing beside God! I thought about what you said this morning about Paul and what kept him going was his love for Jesus. That surely had to be in Stephen’s heart too.
To know that kind of love! Whew!
