the Fullness of God (from the Spirit)

Dear Bro. John:

I awoke this morning with these words from the Spirit: “the fullness of God

As usual when the Lord sends something to me, my heart starts seeking for what he might wish for me to learn of him. (I think he really enjoys dropping the “bread crumbs” and watching us seek him!)

My first thought was: “What IS the fullness of God?” As I started searching some scripture (below) to see if I could find the answer, I was wonderfully surprised to find out that I was asking the wrong question. As I read the scriptures, I realized that the “fullness of God” is not a “what” but a “who”.

As I kept reading, my eyes were opened to the sweet realization that the fullness of God is His Son!

That one thought has carried me all day, and gets sweeter and sweeter each time I think on it.

I noticed that in your translation from Colossians 1:19 (below), you capitalized “Fullness”. That sure feels good to my heart! And your translation in John 14:11, “Believe me, that I am in the Father and the Father in me . . . .” In other words, Jesus might as well have said, “We are FULL of each other!” 🙂

I know there is more coming about the Father and Son, but today has been a sweet FULL day for me just thinking on the words from the Spirit this morning.

(from your translation of Colossians)

Colossians 1

19. because in him all the Fullness was pleased to dwell,

Colossians 2

9. for in him dwells all the fullness of God’s nature bodily,

See you soon,

Sandy 🙂
