Pastor John
In relation to the distinction between earth and sea in places in Revelation (seas = people of the world, and “earth” referring to the saints), might there be anything in the fact that Rev. 12:9 says that the devil was cast into the earth?
=============
I don’t think that that phrase refers to the devil being cast into the body of Christ on earth, but to the world as a whole, hence the next verse that you mention:
=============
When the devil was cast done to the earth, a loud voice in heaven cried (12:12), “Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea”.
=============
Yes, and that is what makes me think that verse 9 refers to the world as a whole.
=============
In verse 17, we are told that the devil “went” to make war. Where did he go?
=============
Now, THAT is a good question, one that we should all ask an answer for.
=============
The next thing described is the Beast coming out of the sea ( = people of the world) who has the devil’s power. Then the second beast, the false prophet, comes from the Earth ( = the body of Christ) who speaks like the devil and has two little horns like a lamb.
Just some wonderings I had tonight.

It’s good to have our minds on such things. A little here, and a little there, begin to paint a glorious picture of the Son of God, after a while.
