It Went Bad Quickly

Pastor John,

Is it possible the Vatican made these 1st century letters up, and we don’t know what happened? Just can’t believe it went that far away by end of 1st century – but then, look at our time!

============

Yes, John, it went bad quickly.  In fact, it had gone bad even before the apostles died.  Paul told Timothy that all the saints in the Roman province of Asia had forsaken him, and John mentioned one church leader who refused to receive him or anyone associated with him.

It’s been bad ever since, and “few there be” who find the way taught of the Spirit and truth that Jesus revealed to Paul.

I guess the Jerusalem Church fell away completely after AD70?  What do you think about Josephus?

============

Josephus cannot be trusted. He was self-serving and ignorant of his own scriptures.  Take nothing he wrote at face value.

============

I was very disturbed by some of the things I read from Josephus… It’s almost like reading a Dakes Bible!! Thanx… Some are using Josephus to rip apart the doctrine of Christ for some reason. Saying he was hired by Rome to start Christianity basically!

Josephus wasn’t that bad!  He was just rotten.

The one who started Christianity is one who had beheld the face of God and been cast out of heaven.  Josephus can’t hold a candle to that fallen creature.
