Would it be correct to say that after Satan was cast out of heaven, he became our (the brethren) accuser? Or did Satan become our (God’s children) persecutor?

No, Satan lost his job as heaven’s prosecutor when Jesus cast him out of heaven. Satan is just a slanderer now, as far as God’s people are concerned. He still accuses, of course, but now, his accusations against God’s people are heard only by carnal men, not by God. And only carnal men are moved by what he says. Satan was heaven’s accuser/prosecutor for ages, but now, he is nothing at all in God’s kingdom.
