Hi, Pastor John.
Is Luke 21:20 talking about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD or is this about the end time when all nations come against Israel.
Thanks,
Billy

Hi Billy.
Here are the verses (our translation) from that section of Luke 21, where Jesus is answering his disciples’ questions about the end of the world:
- “When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that her desolation is near.
- Then let those in Judea flee for the mountains, and let those in the midst of her cities depart, and let not those in the countryside enter into her.
- For these are the days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written.
- And woe to the women who are with child and those who are nursing in those days, for there shall be great distress on the earth, and wrath on this people.
- They shall fall by the edge of the sword, and they shall be led captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the time of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
- And there shall be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth, bewildered anguish among the nations because of the raging of the sea, and its surge,
- men fainting from fear and from expectation of things coming upon the world, for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
- And then they shall see the Son of man, coming on a cloud, with power and great glory.
- But when these things begin to take place, you stand erect and lift up your heads because it is your redemption drawing near.”
This clearly refers to the end of time.
