Jesus and the Ten Lepers

Good morning over there!

I was reading today’s Thought for the Morning*, and I had a thought of my own! smiley face2

I wonder if Jesus sent the lepers back to the priest because of how the priest would receive them? When Jesus healed them of that horrible and isolating disease, they may have been very full and happy, praising the man that healed them.  I was!  I was on death’s doorstep!  Addiction and mess is its own leprosy.  When he healed me, I couldn’t help but tell everyone and sing his praises.  I was and still am amazed at the healing I received!  I still want everyone to know Jesus did it!  I am just trying to picture the men (who would have been known as lepers) taking the news to the priest, and I wondered how the priest would have reacted to their praise of Jesus!

Or was it a ceremonial act, that they needed to be ceremonially cleansed after Jesus healed the lepers, so they could be accepted back into society?  I can’t remember clearly what you have said about that.  Just thinking about the things of God!  Part of my amazing healing! red heart

=============

Jesus would have sent those lepers to the priests even if he had known the priest would hate them for their testimony because that was the will of God, as expressed in Moses’ law, and Jesus always did what His Father wanted done.

I have never thought about how the priests would have received the lepers and their glowing testimonies about Jesus.  Thank you for adding that to me!
