Good afternoon, Pastor John.
I have been thinking about when I first came this way in Louisville. Before I knew anything, I knew I had to render my tithes and offerings to God.* I remember the first time I brought them, I wondered how I would ever make ends meet, but I paid them – first. I made out just fine. I was in a downsizing at work and ended up with a better job instead of no job. Then, 20 years later, when I came back out of the wilderness, again a financial mess, I actually wrote you a letter about only having $1 left for any unexpected expenses after paying them. I do not remember you ever remarking about it. But I paid them anyway – first. Now, three years later, I have no problem bringing my tithes and offerings; actually, I rejoice in it. I have been blessed ten-fold, actually more, than what I have paid, in raises, experiences, and relief from the flesh. When I look back, all I can think is “only God can do this,” and rejoice. Then I look at my whole life, and I have to thank Him for everything – the good, the bad, and the ugly, for it has all worked together to get me here today!
I just wanted to share some good thoughts!
