Technically, gall is another name for bile, especially in animals.
I assume, however, you’ve been reading the Bible, where the phrase is found, “gall of bitterness”. From what I understand, the ancient phrase, “gall of bitterness” simply referred to the worst part of something bad, whether of sin or anything else.
