Dear Pastor John Clark,
Greetings in His most precious name.
By the grace of God a few of us are continually praying every Saturday evening.
As we are working, please advise us how to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, is it with fasting and prayer?
Hope we will receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit very soon, kindly pray for us.
As in Act 2……we need revival in our country!!!!!
Thank you and God Bless you.
David
=============
Greetings in Jesus’ name, David!
The only commandment that I can find in the Scriptures that must be obeyed in order for someone to receive the holy Ghost is to repent. Please do not think that the ceremonial form of fasting from food will avail anything. That was an Old Testament form of worship. You and those precious souls with you may actually become so hungry for God that you forget to eat natural food for a time — and that is a good thing — but to schedule a time of not eating natural food is a worthless fleshly exercise. It is vain will-worship. The only kind of fast that God recognizes now is described in Isaiah 58.
If after all this time, you all have not received the holy Ghost yet, then God is demanding something other than what you are doing. You have not completed your repentance. It may just be that He is waiting for you to renounce the religious system called Christianity and trust only in His Son (as we here have done) so that when He baptizes you with His holy Spirit, God alone (with Jesus) gets all the glory.
No ritual and no religious system will give you the Spirit. Simply humble yourselves to hear and obey the word of the Lord that will come to you directly from heaven. Jesus will lead you into the way of eternal life if you trust him and abandon the ways of this sinful, religious world.
Your servant in Christ,
Pastor John
