  • Jeremiah and Josiah

    Morning, Pastor John!

    I am really loving the prophet Jeremiah and King Josiah story in OT!  I think this is my favorite of all of them.

    Beth
    ==========

    Hi Beth!

    The story of King Josiah is one of the most thrilling, and puzzling, in the Bible.  And with the boy prophet Jeremiah joining with Josiah in his effort to save the nation, it makes for a very touching tale.

  • Haman in the Father and Son book

    Hi, Pastor John;

    I have been thinking about Haman, since the beach, Monday evening.  A scene keeps coming back in my mind from the book of Esther.

    Esther 7 King James Version (KJV)

    So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen.

    And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.

    Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:

    For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king’s damage.

    Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?

    And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

    And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.

    Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.

    And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.

    10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king’s wrath pacified.”

    I had a thought that when Haman’s “face was covered”, he never saw the king or anyone else for that matter again. He was taken to the gallows (immediately) which Haman’s servants had built for Mordecai, and was hanged with Haman’s sons. After Jesus’ sacrifice was accepted by the Father in Heaven, we know God cleansed Heaven of every unclean being (Satan and his angels (servants) and Satan (they) fell from Heaven like lightening NEVER to see the face of God again.  Haman’s judgment was pronounced the moment Haman’s face was covered, just as Satan’s judgment was pronounced the moment he fell as lightning from Heaven; it was just a matter of carrying the sentence out.

    Satan’s utter judgment: Rev. 20:10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

    Satan can’t find (see) us because God has Satan covered; We are “hidden in Christ”. Once Esther knew Haman’s presence had been covered, Esther, Mordecai, and all of the Jews had no more fear of Haman and what he could do to them.  And, if God will grant us wisdom and understanding. God’s people will not have fear of what of Satan or his sons can do to them (us).

  • Reading Excerpts from the Father and Son book

    http://www.goingtojesus.com/text/books/fatherandson.pdf

    I love reading the recent excerpts from Father and Son book that you sent out! God is giving us eyes to see the Son woven throughout the Bible. I could not truly understand, while I was in Christianity, the verses that said, “things written afore time were written for our learning” and were ”a shadow of things to come”, because in Xty, they had no understanding from God about the Old Testament and the Son. But God has taught us and given understanding, through the anointing He has given you, to open the Old Testament and the Son up to our hearts.  I am thankful!

    ============

    I love reading what you sent out from the Father and Son book.  I just love knowing this! The section, “The Act of Bowing” …that whole second paragraph!  “Satan came to the wilderness as God’s representative, not as  a rebel.”  John, Satan is doing exactly what God wants him to do right now.

    This IS a revelation from God!!!!  Christianity taught us, like you said, that Satan tried to overthrow God and was kicked out of Heaven.  How silly is that to us now!

    This will wake you up, just to know what the Son really thought of Satan, and Satan not having a clue.  Whew!!  No wonder Satan hates the Son and this truth so much.  He is just being used by God.  God help us!!!

    It makes me wonder how many more “shadows” God will reveal to us, and the conversations the Son and the Father have had.

    This is good!!

  • Re-baptized?

    Hello, Can a person get baptized a second time if your reasons wasn’t right the first time? I’m a Pentecostal.

    Nancy S

    ===============

    Hi Nancy,

    Forget water baptism.  If you have the baptism of the holy Ghost, you are as baptized as a person ever needs to be.  In this covenant, as Paul said, “There is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism”.  This gospel tract will help you understand:

    God bless you and yours.

  • Thankful

    Hey John, What sweet feeling tonight!  To be a part of the work Jesus gave you is a honor.  You said on a OT cd this week that if someone among us falls away, it won’t be because they haven’t been fed.  Amen! I am thankful for this life. Jr.

  • Last Night’s Meeting (April 8, 2015)

    Pastor John,

    I love the message last night Jesus prepared!  I ate on it all night.  It seems  even better this morning thinking in it. Wonderful.  I pray, “Let us take it all in!”

    Paul

  • So Good and so True

    Pastor John,

    I’ve been working on our “old meeting tapes” project today. Back in March of 1989, you said, “It’s precious not to be ashamed of worshiping in spirit”.

    Immediately, I thought about Sister Venice last night and how her joy was overcoming her so much that she had absolutely no thought about anything or anybody, just trying to thank Jesus for what he has done for her! Such a perfect example of not being ashamed of worshiping in spirit AND how precious it was to us!!

    I got so teary eyed just thinking about last night that I had to stop typing for a little while and get still so I could see it again. Wonderful!

  • God’s Quilt

    Morning Pastor John!

    I had the sweetest weekend with all of you. I literally am making a list in my journal of all the experiences I had. One of those of course was praying for Debby to get the holy ghost. I have never really felt those feelings before. Not that strong and deep. When I began seeking the holy ghost I watched the video of Stephon seeking the holy ghost. Sister Roxie sang ” Jesus” on that disc. That was the first time I felt the spirit move and knew it was the spirit. I watched that disc over and over for a few years. I still watch it. Junior really got touched on that disc too. Watching Stephon seek the holy ghost( disc is from 2008) I felt really connected to him because I was seeking God too! ( I was seeking in 2011). I remember when he did not get it and how sad I was for him. I just really felt great compassion and really connected. Well when I heard their group was coming, I was excited to meet them. I was hoping to see Stephon. While we were praying for Debby Stephon came up next to me. We had the sweetest moment praying for Debby, both filled with the spirit. I was thinking about that this morning. How good is God!

    Here we are, both of us received the holy Ghost, and were praying for another to receive it. That doesn’t really explain the feelings but it’s just so sweet. Cathy Bartow, Michelle and I, were talking this weekend. We were talking about how amazing it is how God takes one here and one there from Australia, from Hungary and knits us together. Like a big quilt. All different but all made one. The prettiest part of our quilt is the history of each patch. A blanket of testimonies of how Jesus changed our hearts. I just wanna wrap up in us and stay there.

    God is so good to us. I really don’t think I can even take in how good God is.  Jacob singing with all his heart, Brother Jimmy testifying, Brother Greg testifying, Meeting Zoli, Praying for Debby with Stephon, Having a sweet moment to sit with sister Barbara on the couch, Countless really sweet hugs, Playing with Gods children, Feeling free enough to speak in tongues in front of Y’all.

    I literally have at least 10 more moments on my list. I am so glad God made me a part of this quilt.

    Love Beth

  • Criticism from Trinitarians

    Pastor John,

    There has been a lot of talk of brother Z—, saying that he is twisting scriptures to come up with his own doctrine. Could someone please explain which scripture has been twisted by Z— to mean something other than what it says?  In doing so, please help me to understand how (if the 3-in-1, 1-in-3 trinity doctrine you speak of is true) 1/3 of God is the only-begotten of another 1/3 of himself (e.g. Jn. 1:14); or that 1/3 of God was daily the delight of one of the other thirds, always rejoicing in the other thirds’ presence (Prov. 8:30); or that 1/3 of God sent another 1/3 of himself to earth (1Jn. 4:9); or that 1/3 of God prayed to the other 1/3 of himself (Mat. 26:39); or that 1/3 of God said that he was greater than one of the other thirds (Jn. 14:28); or that 1/3 of God said not to call his third of himself good, but only to call the other third good (Mat. 19:17); that the honor of 1/3 of God is nothing, but that another 1/3 of God honors that other third (Jn. 8:54); that 1/3 of God said that no man can come to the other 1/3 of himself, but through his own 1/3 of himself (Jn. 14:6); that 1/3 of God gave another 1/3 of himself the cup to drink (Jn. 18:11); that 1/3 of God ascended to the other 1/3 or 2/3 of himself (Jn. 20:17); that 1/3 of God is now sitting at the right hand of one of the other thirds (Hb. 10:12); that 1/3 of God makes intercession to one or both of the other thirds for us (Rm. 8:34).  (Whew! What a mind-bender!)

    If Jesus is 1/3 of a whole, but equal to each other part of that whole, how are we ever to be like Jesus?  How is he our example unless we can somehow fit into that fraction?  It seems to me you would have to work really hard, and put scripture verses together in just a certain way to come up with such a doctrine.  But maybe someone can explain it to me without twisting any scriptures.  Where does the Bible plainly state that the Father, His Son Jesus, and the holy Spirit they share are actually three persons in one (in the same, plain way that Jesus said he was the “first of the creation of God” (Rev. 3:14), or that the Father is greater than he (Jn. 14:28))?

    Seems much more reasonable just to read and believe what is actually in the Bible (without any twisting).  That is, that God is the Father of all creation, He created a Son to love before He created anyone or anything else in heaven or earth (which, I believe, God the Father is perfectly able to do), and that the Father shares His life – His Spirit – with His Son, just as He now shares His life with those who obey Him and receive His baptism of life (the holy Spirit).

    =============

    Hi Vince.

    Trinitarians themselves admit that they cannot answer such questions as yours, Vince.  They can only do as they have been told to do by their ministers.   And when they condemn us who do not accept their strange, unbiblical doctrine of a Holy Trinity, they think they are “doing God service”.

    Keep praying for them, Vince, that God will get through to them and show them how to serve Him “in spirit and in truth”.  And may He help us to do the same, always.

    Pastor John

    Great questions Vince!  Your letter ought to be a tract or something:  “30 Reasons Why I Cannot Believe Christianity’s Trinitarian Doctrine.”
