  • SIT Book Request!

    http://www.goingtojesus.com/tongues-at-spirit-baptism.html

    Hi,

    I just got in and checked my mail box (real mail box) – someone has asked for a second copy of the SIT book!! That’s the first time! I’m thrilled and I just had to tell someone! They have asked for it to be sent to someone in Fiji, which is kinda cool! … Fiji is fine with me!

    Well, I know that is kinda a small thing, but I just wanted to tell.

  • Various Questions

    Hey Pastor John!!

    I have a couple questions…….

    Can a man be righteous without the Holy Ghost?

    ===============

    Not with God’s righteousness, just his own.

    ===============

    Can a man please God without the Holy Ghost?

    ===============

    A person MUST please God before he receives the Spirit; otherwise, he could never receive it.

    ===============

    What about babies and children, when are they held accountable for their souls?

    ===============

    You will have to ask Jesus that one.

    ===============

    What about all the saints out there with the Holy Ghost? Does eveyone have a chance to hear the truth?

    ===============

    Yes, in nature and in the Scriptures, if no other way. They all point to the truth. And if a person digests what God gives them, a “little here and a little there”, he will grow closer to God and His wisdom until He comes to the point of knowing God.

    ===============

    What if they never hear it what happens then?

    ===============

    That’s impossible. God is better than that.

    ===============

    If they never hear the truth and think they’re right but never come out of Christianity, what happens to them?

    ===============

    That is in God’s hands, not mine.

    A more important question for us is this: What if we hear the truth and refuse to obey it?

    ===============

    Thanks for everything!

    God Bless,
    Michelle

  • A Word in Season

    Hi Pastor John,

    I wanted to tell something that touched my heart last night on LiveSteam, as I went to bed I was thinking on what had just taken place. I was thinking about how much words just get in the way sometimes, how we think we have to explain everything or come up with a reason for why we are where we are in the spirit at that time (good or bad)

    The thing that touched my heart was what I felt in the spirit when Sister Sandy got to the place where the spirit was. The feelings that flooded my soul said it all!! It was done; all we had to do from that point on was love sister Sandy.

    I felt the same way about the body and our part. Some of it was just words, but when the body did its part, the same feelings flooded my soul, and it did something for everyone there. And you can feel that take place every time the body was functioning right.

    As I was lying there, I began to weep and repent and ask God to forgive me and help me listen to his spirit clearly and not let me just have a bunch words to say that do not amount to anything. Let me take responsibility for my actions and not try to make any excuse for anything, (good or bad). Let my testimony be “as the oracles of God”.

    These scriptures came to mind last night:

    Pro 15:23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

    Isa 50:4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

    God, let this this be how we are, and we will be a great help to your people. To know when to speak a word in season can make all the difference in the world to who ever it is for.

  • Need Water Baptism?

    Name: mark b.

    comments: Funny where the Lord leads you sometimes when you are searching for him.

    I read your web site. It is so amazing in how simple it is but how I felt like God was calling out to me. You have really done a wonderful job setting it up and making it easy to navigate. I did a random search of Revivals in North Carolina and this was the first link I came to.

    Having said that, as you might imagine by now, I am searching for a renewed relationship with the Lord. Over the past 6 months I have done some serious study and soul searching and have reached the conclusion that I need to be water baptized. I’ve been doing a lot of studying on it since my divorce. I know it’s something I need to do and something I believe I’m ready to do. One of my dilemas is that I travel often. I usually leave on a Saturday and don’t get back until Thursday. So, traditional churches or traditional worships don’t work for me. Plus, I’m no where near an accepting church.

    Maybe you understand what I mean. At least I hope you do.

    The week of Sept 7th 0 12th I will be on business in your area and would be interested in learning more about receiving water baptism in Jesus name and the Holdy Spirit baptism and what I need to do. If you can write back I sure would appreciate it.

    Any suggestions would be really helpful.

    Mark

    ========

    Hi Mark!

    Thank you so much for writing! I am out of town right now, but if you really want the answer to your search, there are a number of godly and wise men in the area for you to meet and speak to. You can contact Earl Pittman, Gary Savelli, Keith Hinnant, Taylor Caldwell, Rob Nelson, or any of the others there who live near me. Any of them could answer your questions completely. Just give xxx a call and they can get you in touch with one or all of those guys.

    But I can tell you up front what they will say to you to start with – forget water baptism. It’s worthless to your soul.

    Your servant in Christ,
    Pastor John

  • Needs Baptism

    Name: Cheryl B

    comments: Thank you so very much for the literature you have sent me. I have read them all over and over again. I am asking for prayer to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I want that so much but have not been able to receive. Cheryl B

    =======

    God bless you, Cheryl!

    Your sincerity will lead you to Christ. Stay sincere and honest with yourself, for that is the kind of person whom God loves most and is most able to love God. I will pass your comment along to the saints here so they can join you in prayer. Let us know when you are filled with the Spirit, please!

  • Christian Like You?

    name: yousif

    comments: how do i become christain like this?

    =========

    Dear Yousif

    If you become like this, you will not be a Christian. You will simply be a slave of Jesus.

    As to your real question, the one you meant to ask, “be filled with the Spirit” is the best answer I can give.

    Your non-Christian servant in Christ,
    Pastor John

    Name: darlene

    comments: hi how are you I,just love the portion “thoughts of the day”.
    but how can you be a pastor ,and not be a christian.thank you, darlene

    =========

    Thank you, Darlene, for writing. As time passes and the abominations of Christianity become more obvious to all, I think that you, along with me and many, many others, will be asking quite another question; namely, “How can anyone be a pastor after God’s own heart and BE a Christian at all?”

  • Today’s Message – We Were Fed

    John,

    I wanted to thank you for feeding us, last night and today.

    This morning’s message especially was truly “living” water to my soul. I feel I am different after today. I do feel your prayer was answered, for food. I was fed. I truly was.

    The word of God touched me today. I feel that God created in me today, through your word from God, a deeper love for Jesus. To put aside such things that may hinder the process of knowing him. I don’t feel I have “big” adjustments to make, it’s not a weight. I simply feel like deep in my heart I want to learn more, to know the doctrine better, to read the scriptures, and to know his ways more. It’s such a tender call I feel… an invitation. I am excited for where Jesus can take me as I do what you say, and see where I am six months from now. That was so real.

    On the way home from lunch today, Ellen drove home and I sat in the back seat (which is rare). I looked out the windows through my sunglasses into the sunshine, and started to weep because of where I am. I don’t mean only the “location”, but for the what the Spirit does for me and the spirits that surround me in your home. In the car, our family felt different, and satisfied. I did not have any words to express my feelings; it overflowed in tears with joy. It was just a love of this truth, and what it has done to me.

    And thank you for your caution today about taking care of the place God has given me. I feel like that stuck very deeply, and you gave me good ammunition on how to do just that. I want to spend time with Jesus, in the Spirit, for the good of his people and so that He does not worry about me. That is what today’s message did for me.

    I hope you get lots done on your trip John.

  • I & II Timothy

    Good morning, Pastor John:

    I have been enjoying reading your translation of I & II Timothy. I read the King James Version first, then read your translation to see if I could recognize any significant differences. They were similar in a lot of places, but basically, the reading of your translation was easier for me to understand. It had a good flow.

    I don’t know how long the time span was between the two books that were written (my bible stated 3 years), but I noticed there was a man named, Alexander. In I Timothy, Paul mentioned that he had turned him over to Satan, so that he (Alexander) would learn not to blaspheme. After that time span between the two letters, Paul mentioned him again in II Timothy, “Alexander the metal worker had caused him great harm”, but Paul still was praying for him, and all of those people who had forsaken Paul.

    ===============

    Was he? I missed that.

    ===============

    Is this the same Alexander, mentioned in both books? It really doesn’t matter if it is not, because the message was clear from Paul: he was going to love the truth, the doctrine, and do as much good for God’s people as he had power to do, and pray to God for them. But if it is the same Alexander, he was doing the same evil against the Gospel and Paul.

    ===============

    Nobody can say for sure about that. My question has been, is this Alexander in Timothy the same brother Alexander that we saw with Paul in Ephesus, in the book of Acts? The Alexander in 1Timothy may well have been that same brother, now fallen away into a perverse doctrine.

    ===============

    This Alexander, caught my eye. Paul knew what damage he had caused, and I am certain there are ungodly brothers and sisters that have, and will keep causing you (us) trouble, like what we have been dealing with recently, with that brother in xxxx, with his arrogance and pride. But Paul told Timothy in more than one place, in both books, that God will sort things out on “That Day.” Until then, those of us who do love the doctrine (like our brother, Vince) can continue loving God and his people, and enjoy to the fullest the life that God has granted to us on this earth. In short, there are times when we just have to let people go, and continue to walk with our God.

    Keep up the good work! “The book of Hebrews is full of good news.” 🙂

    Sincerely,
    billy

    ================

    Thanks Billy. Be patient, now. I am looking forward to translating Hebrews in the not-too-distant future.
