  • Attempted Murder & Punishment

    Hi Pastor John!

If a person attempted to murder another person but did not succeed, or that person survived, was that person guilty under the law of Moses as if he actually killed the person and was put to death?  It seems to me the motive was there in their heart.

    ==========

    Hi Billy.

    Good question.

The motive, under the law, was not the standard for judgment.  In the law of the Spirit in this New Testament, on the other hand, Jesus said the motive is the standard by which we all will be judged.  For example, “You’ve heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’  But I say to you that every man who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Mt. 5:27–28).

The law punished a man according to what he did, not what he wanted to do.  If a man tried to kill someone, but only wounded him, then, “And if anyone causes a blemish in his neighbor, as he did, so shall it be done to him: injury for injury, eye for eye, tooth for tooth.  As he made a blemish in the man, so shall one be made in him” (Lev. 24:19–20).

    Thanks again for the question.

  • A Priest

After asking you a question about God’s definition of a priest, I feel like Jesus talked to me about that this morning.

I was just talking to the Lord about it and thinking about the words God would use to describe a priest.  I have always liked words and learning the origin of words, so I was just talking to Jesus about that.  In the middle of my rambling, the thought came, “You know the definition, and it’s not in words.”  I stopped and thought about that and talked it out with Jesus, going through what I know about Jesus being our priest and being the only sacrifice holy enough to save us.  And how the OT priesthood was a shadow of Jesus.  Going through the Truth!!!

I wanted words for a definition, but I now know God’s definition of Priest: God’s Priest is a Who, not a what!!!

Sure feels sweet thinking about all the things Jesus is and does for us, and it felt sweet going through what Jesus has let me learn from you, too. Thankful for getting to learn from you!

    ===========

    Hi Beth.

That sounds right to me, Beth.  If God doesn’t make someone a priest, it doesn’t matter how a man who thinks he is a priest defines the priesthood.  Nothing matters but what God does.  God’s kingdom is alive.  His truth is a who (Jesus), His way is a who; His life is a who; and His priest is a who.

    Praise ye the Lord!

  • Vision / Wednesday

    Hi, Pastor John.

The Matthew reading was so rich and full. But towards the end, the Lord gave me a vision.  He showed me a poisonous snake crawling in my front yard.  It was going towards Judy, who was hanging flowers by the pool after the storm that day.  I was on guard (so to speak) after we left your house.

When we got home after the meeting, Judy started getting the flowers from the deck on the back of the house where we had them sitting under the roof overhang and walking them to hang on the plant hangers along the pool fence.  I walked our dog as we normally do at night.  As I was walking the dog, the dog started jumping and flinching; I thought it was after frogs.  The more the dog sniffed, the more it started jumping.  I pulled her away, and I saw a brown colored snake slithering in the grass going from the front of the house in the grass towards the pool where Judy was.  I spoke somewhat loudly to Judy, “Be watchful and careful where you’re walking, I just saw a snake coming your way.”. Of course, Judy was now on alert, too.  Nothing happened.  Jesus warned us and kept us from getting bit – He kept us from harm.

This morning Judy said, “I’m glad the Lord was thinking about me.”  I replied, “I know . . .if he is thinking about you in carnal things of this world to help and protect you, how much more is He thinking about you in Eternal things.  Isn’t it wonderful to know He is thinking about you?”  I also told Judy, “If Jesus gives bread to God’s children, how much more is the meat that He has to give.”

We serve a “big” good Master!

  • Trials Are Opportunities

    Pastor John,

I was thinking about the tract, “Trials Are Opportunities” Trials are an opportunity to build our faith, but they are also an opportunity to love God in a way that we normally could not do. A hard situation in our life where we remain unmoved and go boldly forward in the knowledge that God loves us is a sweet response to the One who has been so good to us.

I feel like God would move mountains for His children. If someone was hungering and thirsting after Jesus and doing all they could do to reach Him, and something out of their control stood in their way,  I feel like God would move Heaven and Earth to clear the path for them. There is rest in that. It means everyone that wants Jesus will have Him.

  • Who Made Me Think!

I was listening to the morning conversations that Sister Betty put out!  They are so good!

I got to feeling so good and so thankful, and in the middle of that, I remembered something wonderful!

Right before God sent Jerry, and shortly after I came out of the coma, two very sweet ladies convinced me that I needed to be water baptized.  I was a broken-down mess, but I wanted to be fixed.  I remember right before I was getting in that big tank of water, I was hoping and praying to come up different.  I wanted to come up clean and different.  I didn’t, and I remember how sad and disappointed I felt because it wasn’t real.  I really had hoped it would be.

Why did I ever think that!!!  It surely wasn’t from anything I grew up thinking or having been taught.  As a Catholic, I was baptized at birth and was taught I was good to go!

So where did that thought ever come from, or Praise God, Who did that thought come from!

That is just absolutely wonderful to me.  And bless those sweet ladies who thought they were helping me.  Something in them thought baptism would change me, too.  They just had the wrong one!

I pray Jesus gives them his baptism.

  • The Iron Kingdom Database for Viewing

If any of you would like to view the contents of the IK database that Damien made for my notes, the link below allows that.

The Outline for my notes is on the right, with the Bibliography down below that.

You can click on a topic in the Outline or click on a book in the Bibliography to view the notes on that topic or in that particular book.

Or, if you prefer, you can do a word search in the box provided.

Or, if you prefer, you can search by century (0-7), to see the notes that apply just to that century.

Damien has done a terrific job with this. I wanted you to see it, and I hope you benefit from it. These are the notes that I am using to write the next book in the Iron Kingdom Series.

  • Old Testament Course

    Good evening Pastor Clark,

During a recent prayer, His Spirit explained prayer is good, but I wasn’t working.  I was confused but remembered you stating something about having to work at it.  I tried reading the bible.  As was my usual habit, I started in the new testament, which led to much confusion in me.  He led me to your Old Testament course on line yesterday.*  Many times I have been on that site and not noticed it.  I did the intro and have gotten a bible with no footnotes now and have ordered an atlas.

I started reading Genesis and the second verse, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, stood out to me. I have read this numerous times and never thought about this.  Is this the Holy Ghost?  I always thought the Holy Ghost was manifested when Jesus died.  Reading today I feel like It has been around from the beginning of time.  Or is this one of the mysteries that I shouldn’t concern myself over?  I have always been one too look under the porch to see what was holding it up.  I am feeling much better and stronger now that I have work to do and know what it is.

Also, I tried to find All Things on the web pages but it doesn’t come up.  Is that the title?

    Thanks

    Mark

    ==========

    Hi, Mark.

You will do well to go through the Old Testament, but do not do too much. Don’t read ahead, and don’t read commentaries. Stick with the class schedule. Jesus has given me a gift to teach the Old Testament, and you will learn it well if you will just follow the very simple directions I give.

The Spirit is God’s life. It has always been. No one but God and His Son had it within them until the day of Pentecost, but it has always been there, speaking through the prophets.

The All Things book has been renamed. It is now called, “Suffering and the Saints”.**

Keep me updated on how your Old Testament study goes!

  • Flowing with Milk and Honey!

    Good morning,

I read the email on the Iron Kingdom database*, and it is amazing how much food God has provided for His children.  I sat for a while this morning thinking about all that is available for someone needing something from Jesus. Questions or feelings, things to gain or things to get rid of, God has laid it out for whosoever will.  I can’t think of something God has not covered!

I read to Joshua, and I have not wanted to leave Moses, so I went back and read Genesis, and now I am back with Moses in Exodus.

I thought of God bringing Damien all the way from Australia to help layout treasures for His children.  Look at all the hearts God spoke to and placed here to give to His children! The anointing and the truth in the music alone can open and draw hearts nearer to God.  How many times I have been fixed, or felt Jesus with me, through a song or a testimony!

Even the translations provided are cleaner and purer; they feel different . I feel it when I have to look something up in KJV. My heart sinks a little when I have to go to the KJV.**

It is overwhelming to really sit and see what God has done for the ones He has called or, or will call.  Look what God has had you layout for us!  Flowing with milk and honey, just like He said it would!

    Praise God!  It is big!

Thinking about that and reading Exodus 4 made me smile – made me smile and filled me with faith!  God has everything under control; we really do just have to be available and move when He says move.

    Exodus 4

    10. And Moses said to the Lord, “If you please, my Lord, I am not an eloquent man, neither before nor since you began speaking to your servant, for I am slow of mouth and tongue.”

    11. And the Lord said to him, “Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes the dumb or the deaf, or the seeing or the blind? Do not I, Jehovah?

12.Now, go! I will be with your mouth, and I will teach you what you should say.”

    13. But he said, “If you please, my Lord! I beg you, send . . . send by the hand of another!”

    14. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said, “Do I not know that Aaron your brother, the Levite, can speak well? Also, he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you he will be glad in his heart.

Verse 15 just thrills my soul!

15.And you will speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth. And I will teach you what you should do.

I know I have said it before but it’s so good to me what God has given us! I had to say it again!

  • Last Night’s Message, Wonderful!

    Good morning.

I sure loved last night’s message John, wonderful!  I wish I could have physically been there, but it came across good and clear on Youtube.  And thanks for praying for me, I am feeling improved today, hopefully will be back to normal in short order.

I read little Jessa’s notes, that was so good.  They were some of my highlights too, but I wrote down one myself last night that stuck out to me:   “We need God’s touch every day”.  Yesterday’s touch and yesterday’s word was perfect for then, but He has something for us TODAY.   If we don’t have that, all we have is “tradition” – or memories of blessings past.  Thank God for the things He’s done for us in the past, but if we want something BIG (to God)… there’s nothing bigger than God speaking to us and leading us in the Spirit’s way TODAY.

I had a song to sing last night, not knowing what your message would be on.  I so wished I was there to sing it, but I have attached the words.  I especially loved the first two lines of the first verse of the song, because you spent a good deal of time on Israel being important to God.  I had no way of knowing you would talk about that – it encourages me so much when I’m on the same page with you and God, in my thoughts and music.

Thanks for showing us the way.  I believe I am better today, spiritually and physically, from the message last night.  Praise the Lord.

    Gary  (lyrics below)

This is Big, Yall   (G.S. – June 2021)

Israel was a tiny nation, smallest on the earth.

But God had chosen only them, and He knows what things are worth.

His blessing came to Abraham, the father of the faith.

And Jesus passed it down to us, And we still are blessed today, cause,

    (CHORUS:)

This is big, yall.    ‘Cause God is big, yall.

Though men see something small, In God it’s big yall.

Yes, this is big, yall.    Cause God is big, yall.

When the holy Ghost power is in it,  to God it’s big. (Yall)

David was God’s shepherd boy,  playing on his harp.

No one knew, he would be king, that God would love his heart.

That little lad grew up in God, and one day with a sling.

Killed Goliath with a stone, as all began to sing.

    (CHORUS)

Samuel was Hannah’s son.  She lent him to the Lord.

He did his chores for Eli till,  one day he heard God’s word.

And God made him a prophet, he found favor with all men.

Not one word fell to the ground,   Lived faithful to the end.

     (CHORUS)

We were in the wilderness, when we heard Jesus call.

He gave us truth, a man to guide,  we followed, one and all.

And now we gather here in Christ, we’re blessed much more than most.

Oh hallelujah, we have rest,  free in the holy Ghost.

    (CHORUS)

The world may look, at just we few,  and pity us so much.

We have got no buildings, traditions, rites, and such.

But we have found the Hidden Son, in truth we lift Him up.

What’s small to man, is big to God,   For Jesus is enough!

    (CHORUS)

God’s people need a shining light, we pray that’s what we are.

Our echo is so valuable, to those with hungry hearts.

We know when someone’s born again, and who God’s people are.

Yes we are small, but to the Lord,   that’s giant in His heart.

    (CHORUS)

  • Pastor John,

I love love love EVERYTHING you said tonight! Thank you!!  ️🙌🏻I can feel it and want to live in it! I am so thankful for all the experiences and touches from Jesus! They are BIG and I need more of them!
