{"id":10055,"date":"2018-01-16T00:44:44","date_gmt":"2018-01-16T00:44:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=10055"},"modified":"2018-01-16T00:44:44","modified_gmt":"2018-01-16T00:44:44","slug":"mathew-reading","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/10055\/mathew-reading\/","title":{"rendered":"Matthew Reading"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Hi John,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">While reading through the \u201cBeatitudes\u201d in Matthew this morning, I was reminded again of how blessed we are to have you as an anointed teacher and pastor. How many dozen times have I read those same scriptures and have not understood the depth of truth that you expressed this morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">As my daughter Amy said, it felt like Jesus was standing in our midst pointing towards a path or an open door saying, \u201cthis is the way. Follow me!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Oh, how I pray that all of God\u2019s people could hear the truth of the gospel the way we experienced it this morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Thank you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Tom<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">===========\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I could not have said it better than Tom did, John.\u00a0 The anointing on you really\u00a0opened that up today&#8230; I have never fully understood the teachings of Jesus in that way, to that depth &#8211; maybe not at all!\u00a0 We don&#8217;t know anything without Him.\u00a0 I wish all of God&#8217;s children could hear what we get to\u00a0hear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">My heart really cried out to God when you prayed at the end.\u00a0 I really needed that, I know it was just for me (but I guess others can say that too!)\u00a0 I need Him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Thank you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Gary<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">===========\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Hi Pastor John.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">It feels like it\u2019s more special reading the New Testament this time.\u00a0 There is an anticipation of what we may learn, and especially what we may feel.\u00a0 I really loved the part when Jesus said, \u201cBe perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect.\u201d \u00a0This quote from your translation says so much to me, \u00a0 \u201cSo,\u00a0<i>y<\/i>ou be perfect, just as\u00a0<i>y<\/i>our Father who is in heaven is perfect\u201d (Mt.\u00a05:48).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">This quote explains where Jesus was at this time (on earth), that Jesus had a Father and where he Father is (in Heaven), and what his Father was (perfect).\u00a0\u00a0 But one thing that really gave me joy is when Jesus said, \u201cYou be perfect.\u201d \u00a0We read the prior scriptures in chapter 5 that explained who the Father is.\u00a0 And you explained that no one could be perfect until after the Spirit was given at Pentecost.\u00a0 Something really went off in my heart and mind to think we can be like God in judgment, in love, in hating evil things, and in mercy, to name just a few.\u00a0 I know this is ABC stuff, but whew, something really clicked in my mind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I wonder if these were things that Satan wanted when the scriptures described him as wanting to be like the most high God.\u00a0 Satan really thought he could be like God without the life of God (impossible). \u00a0\u00a0No one can be perfected without the life of God that Jesus died for us to have.\u00a0 It is only given to repented hearts, and then we have to humble ourselves to walk in the Spirit to be perfected.\u00a0 I feel so much joy!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">The readings already are very sobering and exciting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Hope you have a wonderful week!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Billy<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi John,\u00a0 While reading through the \u201cBeatitudes\u201d in Matthew this morning, I was reminded again of how blessed we are to have you as an anointed teacher and pastor.
