Dear Bro. John:<\/span><\/p>\n

The following chorus came in a sweet, sweet dream from the Lord.\u00a0\u00a0I wish I could remember the tune, but all that I can tell you is that it was heavenly.\u00a0\u00a0We were sitting in a room, some of us at tables, and some in booths.\u00a0\u00a0I was sitting with some others in a booth across from you.\u00a0\u00a0Suddenly, the young people started singing this beautiful chorus and it was floating through the air.\u00a0\u00a0Their voices were like angels – – soft, sweet, innocent and crystal-clear.\u00a0\u00a0With my eyes closed, I lifted up my face toward heaven and was feeling this song, as gentle as the wind, blowing across my face.\u00a0\u00a0It was a beautiful, sweet, pure feeling.\u00a0\u00a0These are the words I heard being sung:<\/span><\/p>\n

Watching ancient habits<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Is teaching us all the time<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Watching ancient habits<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Is drinking from the Vine<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

When Jesus makes us happy<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

All things are made whole<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Watching ancient habits<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Reaches deep down in the soul!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

In Webster\u2019s the word \u201chabit\u201d is described as \u201ccondition, character, usual manner of\u00a0\u00a0behavior.\u201d\u00a0 We have spoken of God as the \u201cAncient of days\u201d, but I wasn’t sure how the word \u201cancient\u201d was used in other scriptures, so I looked up a few for better understanding:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWith the\u00a0ancient<\/strong> is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.<\/em>\u201d Job 12:12<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI have considered the days of old, the years of ancient<\/strong> times.<\/em>\u201d Psalm 77:5<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRemove not the\u00a0ancient<\/strong> landmark, which thy fathers have set.<\/em>\u201d Proverbs 22:28<\/span><\/p>\n

All of this reminded me of the sweet meetings in L\u2019ville this past July 4th<\/sup> weekend.\u00a0\u00a0How the young people were \u201cwatching\u201d the wonderful godly behavior of those old saints who traveled and testified of experiences and a life of holiness that can be lived by those who trust in the Lord.\u00a0 Old saints whose hearts have been established and who love to testify of how Jesus has been there for every circumstance in their lives – –\u00a0living<\/em> testimonies that the young ones saw and heard from \u201cancients\u201d who have stayed on the \u201cold paths\u201d where Jeremiah said:\u00a0\u201cThus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls . . . .<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

After reading some in Jeremiah, it also struck me how fearful it is if we cause a little one to stumble. What are they learning by watching us, and what is God seeing?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAm I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?<\/em><\/span>
\n Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.<\/em>\u201d Jeremiah 23: 23,24<\/span><\/p>\n

God help us to walk humbly and righteously with Him and live so that young hearts can sing their songs as in that dream!<\/span><\/p>\n
