{"id":10198,"date":"2018-05-07T23:40:07","date_gmt":"2018-05-07T23:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=10198"},"modified":"2018-05-07T23:40:07","modified_gmt":"2018-05-07T23:40:07","slug":"the-power-of-god-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/10198\/the-power-of-god-2\/","title":{"rendered":"The Power of God"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Hi Pastor John.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7593\" src=\"https:\/\/pjhmail.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/06\/smiley-face.png\" alt=\"smiley face\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">All day I have been soaking in thoughts of the power of God. I can not stop thinking about it and it is so good. Growing up I never heard of the power of God. I heard at times the term &#8220;a Higher Power&#8221; but never even stopped to think about that term. I just associated it with a reference to God. When Gary and Karlee sang that beautiful song this weekend, the verse &#8220;what a powerful name it is&#8221; struck me.\u00a0 Sister Natalie was sitting next to me, and all I could think of was the powerful name of Jesus touching her.\u00a0 Then brother Greg&#8217;s testimony about his dad stopping drinking cold turkey after 40 years.\u00a0 That is only Jesus.\u00a0 Only the power of our King Jesus can do that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I know how it feels to want so desperately to be out from under that consuming burden and not be able to stop.\u00a0 I know that only Jesus, only the powerful name of Jesus being called out that day, broke that off of me.\u00a0 I keep thinking most of the world has heard or uses the term &#8220;Higher power&#8221; never thinking or knowing that there is a power from Jesus that is real.\u00a0 If they would only sincerely call on that powerful name of Jesus, how everything would change!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#000000;\">And I am sitting here and I know it.\u00a0 It takes my breath away.\u00a0 Since we read\u00a0Saturday\u00a0morning, all I keep feeling is that we are so blessed.\u00a0 We have the answer for every problem that is going to come.\u00a0 From now until Jesus burns this world up, we have the answer for all of it.\u00a0 How can that be? I can&#8217;t believe Jesus created me for him.\u00a0 I want to, but how do you take that in?\u00a0 And really, it all comes back to the order of God&#8211;the authority.\u00a0 It all comes back to getting on your face before Jesus and submitting.
