Hi Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n

I read in your book this verse in Matthew 27:52-53:<\/span><\/p>\n

“And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many”.<\/span><\/p>\n

I studied the first resurrection in the book of revelation 20:4-6:<\/span><\/p>\n

“And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw<\/em> the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his<\/em> mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first Resurrection<\/em>. Blessed and holy is<\/em> he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Is the book of Matthew the same in Revelation?<\/span><\/p>\n

The event in Matthew 27 is neither the first or the second resurrection that John describes in Revelation 20 and that Jesus also mentions in John 5:29.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Who they are who rose from the dead in Matthew 27, and what happened to them after they rose from the dead, no one knows. They are never mentioned again, and so far as I can tell, they were never mentioned in prophecy before they rose from the dead.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

It happened. That\u2019s all that anyone can say about them.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
