{"id":11511,"date":"2020-10-20T13:59:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-20T13:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=11511"},"modified":"2020-10-20T13:59:00","modified_gmt":"2020-10-20T13:59:00","slug":"voting-in-my-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/11511\/voting-in-my-heart\/","title":{"rendered":"Voting in My Heart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Hi Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">While working on my presentation this evening for work, I realized that my flesh is still trying to make a deal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">The United States is in dire straits right now, and on a political (ideological) razor&#8217;s edge with this upcoming election. The results of this presidential election will (or at least they appear to) serve to either hold back for a little longer the destruction of this republic (what remains) that is the United States of America or usher in its destruction. But I do not vote in the election because I trust that Jesus will place in power who He will, according to what is good in His sight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">So instead of voting, I found myself again hoping tonight that Trump wins the upcoming November election.\u00a0 I realize that there is no difference.\u00a0 If I want my way about this thing, I have already voted \u2013 in my heart \u2013 instead of trusting Jesus.\u00a0 Not voting is a choice I make.\u00a0 It means not taking a side or picking up a cause with this world, other than Jesus&#8217; cause.\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t mean putting on a muzzle while secretly hoping to get my way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Jesus promised to destroy the earth; it has to happen before God&#8217;s children go home.\u00a0 Do I want to be perfected while this world crumbles around me, as God promised it would, so that I can be saved with the faithful?\u00a0 Or do I want to restrain my flesh from pulling a lever, while secretly hoping this wicked world will be preserved a little longer so I can prosper as a US citizen?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">If this country falls apart in my lifetime, it is for my good if I love God, and I am called according to his purpose.\u00a0 If taxes go up, jobs become scarce, and war abounds (or if none of that happens), it is for my good if I love God and I am called according to his purpose.\u00a0 He promised.\u00a0 That is real.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">My job is to love God, not to hope for election results.\u00a0 I needed the reminder from the Lord so I could correct my sail about this thing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Jerry D.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi Pastor John, While working on my presentation this evening for work, I realized that my flesh is still trying to make a deal.
