{"id":12607,"date":"2022-01-06T14:43:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-06T14:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=12607"},"modified":"2022-01-06T14:43:00","modified_gmt":"2022-01-06T14:43:00","slug":"more-of-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/12607\/more-of-god\/","title":{"rendered":"More of God"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Random Thought<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">1-6<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Making Room For More of God<\/p>\n<p>From a sermon by Pastor John in 1981.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">In a sermon many years ago now, I said, \u201cIf you want more of God, you have to make room for more of God.\u201d\u00a0 That just means, clear away the clutter of your life and make room for more of God! The world will consume all your strength and attention with \u201cnecessary\u201d things.\u00a0 The world will eat up every spare second you have if you let it. It will entertain you to death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">When the world demands all your time, rebel against it.\u00a0 There were times when Jesus and his disciples were so busy healing and helping people that they had no time for earthly matters, not even time to eat (Mk. 3:20).\u00a0 They felt the same way Job did about the comparative value of the things of God and the things of this world.\u00a0 Job said to his friends, \u201cI have esteemed the words of God\u2019s mouth more than my necessary food!\u201d (Job. 23:12).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">If you want more of God, you have to make room for more of God, even if making room for God means neglecting things this world insists are important.\u00a0 Being filled with righteousness takes time, and to be filled with it will require spending time seeking to know and to please God, often at the expense of time that could be spent on important worldly matters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">=============<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I read &#8220;Random Thought&#8221; last night before bed, it was so good and encouraging. This morning I felt that pull to just get on my knees and spend time with Jesus before I started my day.\u00a0 I began to pray in tongues and tears flowed.\u00a0 I began praying for different ones, I was praying asking Jesus to help us, to heal us.\u00a0 To encourage the downhearted and to guide us when we feel lost and don&#8217;t know what to do. Afterwards, I put some music on to listen to while I started working.\u00a0 Darren&#8217;s song &#8220;Come unto me&#8221; started playing.\u00a0 In it he sings, Come unto me and I will be your healer, come unto me you will never be alone.\u00a0 He is our friend, our Saviour and our healer.\u00a0 If you come unto me I will lead you home.\u00a0 It was a very sweet, tender morning with Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Michelle<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#3366ff;\"><a style=\"color:#3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/goingtojesus.com\/gtj_thoughts.html?tname=rdt01-06\">Going to Jesus.com &#8211; Making Room for More of God<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Random Thought 1-6 Making Room For More of God From a sermon by Pastor John in 1981.
