{"id":13085,"date":"2022-07-09T17:57:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-09T17:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=13085"},"modified":"2022-07-09T17:57:00","modified_gmt":"2022-07-09T17:57:00","slug":"modern-religion-and-timelines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/13085\/modern-religion-and-timelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Modern Religion and Timelines\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Evening,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I hope you and yours are well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I had an interesting thought that came from an observation I had in listening and watching conservative news shows and commentaries recently.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">The observation is that I hear even people who say they are religious (thus believe in a god who created in some way, shape or form) say when referencing the beginning of time, or a human trait that\u2019s been passed down from long ago, that it occurred hundreds of thousands of years ago.\u00a0 And some even say millions of years ago.\u00a0 This made me wonder, regardless of what they say they are, are they truly believers in a higher power, one who can create from nothing and one who did so not as long ago as they believe?\u00a0 How can one be a Christian, a believer, or Jew and not believe the <em>entire<\/em>\u00a0story of God?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">This puzzles me.\u00a0 I\u2019ve heard this several times recently, which makes me wonder how truly they really believe in God.\u00a0 God\u2019s truth is not a partial truth.\u00a0 His reality must be ours; not the other way around.\u00a0 I do not understand how people can openly stand for God, but not believe his timeline too.\u00a0 I know people often pick and choose what part of the Bible to believe in, but this evolutionary creation and salvation story is a new one for me.\u00a0 If we extrapolate this, it\u2019s as if they believe God created the earth millions of years ago with a Big Bang, then evolution took place, and then God created humans.\u00a0 This doesn\u2019t make any sense to me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Am I missing something?
