{"id":13214,"date":"2022-08-29T00:27:00","date_gmt":"2022-08-29T00:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=13214"},"modified":"2022-08-29T00:27:00","modified_gmt":"2022-08-29T00:27:00","slug":"old-testament-judges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/13214\/old-testament-judges\/","title":{"rendered":"Old Testament &#8211; Judges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Hey Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">I just finished one of my Old Testament CDs, we are just finishing Judges*. It\u2019s so frustrating and heartbreaking to read this.\u00a0 God would set up a judge, the people did well and served God, the judge dies, and then the people would do evil again.\u00a0 God would punish his people, they would repent and he would send them another judge. Repeat. Over and over.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">The story of Jephthah\u2019s daughter really broke my heart.\u00a0 How he made an oath to God to offer to God whatever came to greet him when he returned home (he thought it would be an animal), but instead his daughter ran out.\u00a0 He killed and offered his daughter to God.\u00a0 He did not know that God would never want him to do that.\u00a0 He was trying to please God and honor his oath, but suffered greatly.\u00a0 All because God&#8217;s men were not doing their job of teaching the people the truth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">There are so many stories like that during this time.\u00a0 There were so many people who really wanted to serve God and live a righteous life, but just didn\u2019t know how.\u00a0 God&#8217;s men were not doing their job and a lot of people suffered because of it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">It\u2019s just left me thanking God for what He has taught you and for what you have passed to us.\u00a0 To be given the truth and to be fed the knowledge of how to please God and how to worship Him acceptably.\u00a0 To know God&#8217;s precious Son and the love they have for each other and for us.\u00a0 What is that worth?\u00a0 Everything!\u00a0 It made me think of how much pain, frustration and confusion Jesus has really saved us from.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Really puts a prayer in my heart: please, Jesus, keep us open and humble enough to receive whatever you teach us next.\u00a0 I know it will be for our good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Love you!<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color:#000000;\">Michelle<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#3366ff;\">* <a style=\"color:#3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.goingtojesus.com\/gtj_otcourse-1010.html\">Old Testament Course (Pt. 1) &#8211; Going to Jesus.com<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey Pastor John, I just finished one of my Old Testament CDs, we are just finishing Judges*.
