Good morning John,<\/span><\/p>\n

I know that this may seem like a very simple question, but can you explain what God’s judgments are.\u00a0 I can assume that they are decisions on life matters that come from God through you or the body, but I really don’t want to assume anything on something so important.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You are right, Keith.\u00a0 God’s judgments are His decisions concerning how we conduct our lives.\u00a0 A judgment may concern our private lives or the life of the whole body of Christ, but whatever direction God gives, it is precious, and He gave that judgment because He saw that we needed it.\u00a0 Holding on to God’s judgments will save us, and drifting away from them may put our soul at risk.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I should point out that we can neglect God’s judgments for so long that we actually forget a judgment after He gives it!\u00a0 That is frightening to me.\u00a0 It happened in ancient Israel, as God said through Jeremiah: “The children of Israel have perverted their way.\u00a0\u00a0They have forgotten Jehovah their God.”\u00a0 What a disaster that was for Israel!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you for the good question!\u00a0 It is very important that we do not assume that we know some things, and it is safe to ask.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Keeping God\u2019s Judgments<\/span><\/p>\n

Y<\/em>ou must keep my statutes and my judgments,<\/span><\/p>\n

for the man who does them shall also live by them.\u00a0 I am the L<\/span>ord.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leviticus 18:5<\/span><\/p>\n

God\u2019s judgments are the way, the only way, to eternal life.\u00a0 Wise people desire them and walk in them.\u00a0 We should keep in mind the following truths concerning God\u2019s judgments.<\/span><\/p>\n

God\u2019s judgments are found only among His people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dt. 4:7\u20138: \u201cWhat great nation has God so close to it, as Jehovah our God is in all that we call upon Him?\u00a0 And what great nation has righteous statutes and judgments as all this law which I am setting before\u00a0y<\/em>ou today?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ps. 147:19\u201320: \u201cHe declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel.\u00a0 He has not done the like for any\u00a0other<\/em>\u00a0nation, and they have not known His judgments.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

God\u2019s favor is upon His people when they live according to His judgments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lev. 26:18\u201319: \u201cY<\/em>ou shall do my statutes, and\u00a0y<\/em>ou shall keep my judgments and do them, and then\u00a0y<\/em>ou will dwell safely upon the land.\u00a0 And the land will yield its fruit, and\u00a0y<\/em>ou will eat to the full and dwell safely in it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Dt. 7:12: \u201cAnd it shall come to pass that because\u00a0y<\/em>ou take heed to these judgments and keep them and do them, Jehovah your God will keep with you the covenant and lovingkindness which He swore to your fathers.\u00a0 And He will love you, and bless you, and multiply you.\u00a0 He will also bless the fruit of your womb, and the fruit of your ground \u2013 your grain, and your new wine, and your fresh oil, the offspring of your cattle, and the offspring of your flock \u2013 in the land which He swore to your fathers to give to you.\u00a0 You shall be blessed above all peoples.\u00a0 There shall not be a barren male or female among you or your livestock.\u00a0 And Jehovah will turn all sickness away from you and all the malignant diseases of the Egyptians, of which you know.\u00a0 He will not lay them upon you but will put them upon all who hate you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

If God\u2019s judgments do not satisfy us, He will give us other ones.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ezek. 20:23\u201325: \u201cI swore to them in the wilderness that I would scatter them among the Gentiles and disperse them among the nations because they did not execute my judgments. . . .\u00a0 So, I also gave them statutes that were not good and judgments by which they could not have life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

God makes His people able to keep His judgments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ezek. 36:26 \u201327: \u201cI will give\u00a0y<\/em>ou a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within\u00a0y<\/em>ou.\u00a0 And I will remove the heart of stone from\u00a0y<\/em>our flesh, and I will give\u00a0y<\/em>ou a heart of flesh.\u00a0 And I will put my Spirit within\u00a0y<\/em>ou, and I will enable\u00a0y<\/em>ou to walk according to my statutes and my judgments, and\u00a0y<\/em>ou will diligently keep them.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

My prayer is that one day, we will all be together on the new earth with Jesus, enjoying the peace that God has promised to those who keep His judgments.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
