{"id":13826,"date":"2023-04-06T13:53:18","date_gmt":"2023-04-06T13:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=13826"},"modified":"2023-04-06T13:53:18","modified_gmt":"2023-04-06T13:53:18","slug":"the-jerusalem-council-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/13826\/the-jerusalem-council-3\/","title":{"rendered":"The Jerusalem Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">I think I failed to see during the last reading (in the beginning for sure, but I don\u2019t believe I ever fully got it) how it wasn&#8217;t &#8220;right vs. wrong&#8221; or &#8220;good vs. bad&#8221; as much as it was &#8220;good vs. better&#8221; or &#8220;good vs. holy&#8221;.\u00a0 Or even, &#8220;where God was vs. where God is.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Which is so different!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">These were God&#8217;s old men vs. God&#8217;s new men, and I recall portraying my character (God&#8217;s old man) as an obviously bad man for the first half of the reading.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">I think many who would have opposed Paul at the Jerusalem Council,* \u00a0would have been sincere, and earnest in their pleadings (of course), without malice.
