Why Some Thought that Jesus was a Cult Leader<\/span><\/p>\n

The following would have been the thoughts of some who heard Jesus preach but did not believe him.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \u201cJesus thinks that nobody can come to God except by him.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Jn. 14:6. Jesus said to him, \u201cI am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    1. \u201cJesus thinks that he is the only person on earth who knows God.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Mt. 11:27b. \u201cNo one really knows the Father except the Son, and he to whom the Son may choose to reveal Him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. \u201cJesus has convinced his followers that he is the Savior of the whole world.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1Jn. 2:2. He is the propitiation for our sins, not for ours only, but also for\u00a0the sins\u00a0<\/em>of the whole world.<\/span><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. \u201cJesus thinks that anyone who rejects him is going to be damned.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Jn. 24. \u201cIf\u00a0y<\/em>ou do not believe that I am\u00a0the one<\/em>,\u00a0y<\/em>ou will die in\u00a0y<\/em>our sins.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

          1. \u201cJesus claims that he can keep people from ever being hungry or thirsty.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Jn. 6:35. Jesus said to them, \u201cI am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

            1. \u201cJesus thinks that everyone who truly hears from God will believe in him.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Jn. 6:45. \u201cIt is written in the prophets, \u2018They shall all be taught by God.\u2019 Everybody, then, who hears and learns from the Father comes to me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

              Here are some others that were sent to me:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

              1. \u201cJesus is trying to start a ritual of drinking his blood and eating his flesh!\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                Jn. 6:45. Jesus said to them, \u201cTruly, truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

                1. \u201cJesus is crazy. He doesn\u2019t even know who is mother and siblings are.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  Mt. 12:46\u201348. All the while that he was speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and brothers had been standing outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone said to him, \u201cBehold, your mother and your brothers have been standing outside, wanting to speak to you.\u201d But he answered and said to the one who had spoken to him, \u201cWho is my mother? And who are my brothers?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

                  1. \u201cJesus thinks he is going to take over the world and make his disciples kings forever \u2013 if they forsake everything and follow him.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    Mt. 19:28\u201329. Jesus said to them, \u201cTruly, I tell\u00a0y<\/em>ou that\u00a0y<\/em>ou who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man sits down on his glorious throne,\u00a0y<\/em>ou will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left homes, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name\u2019s sake shall receive a hundredfold, and then shall inherit eternal life.<\/span><\/p>\n

                    1. \u201cAnd Jesus thinks that he will do that soon, in just a few years.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      Mt. 16:28. \u201cTruly, I tell\u00a0y<\/em>ou, there are some standing here that will not taste of death until they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

                      1. \u201cJesus believes in reincarnation.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        Jn. 3:7. \u201cY<\/em>ou must be born again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

                        1. \u201cJesus breaks up marriages and families.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                          Lk. 12:51\u201353. Do\u00a0y<\/em>ou think that I have come to give peace to the land? No, I tell\u00a0y<\/em>ou, but rather division! For from now on, there will be five divided in one house, three against two, and two against three. Father will be divided against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against mother; and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.<\/span><\/p>\n

                            \n
                          1. \u201cJesus thinks the few people who believe him are the only ones who will be saved.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                            Mt. 7:13\u201314. \u201cEnter by the strait gate because the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to damnation, and there are many who enter by it. How strait the gate and narrow the road that leads to life! And few there are who find it.<\/span><\/p>\n

                            1. \u201cJesus thinks he has power to forgive sins, like God.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                              Lk. 5:20\u201321. Seeing their faith, he told him, \u201cMan, your sins are forgiven you.\u201d And the scribes and Pharisees began to reason, saying, \u201cWho is this man who is speaking blasphemies? Who, except God only, can forgive sins?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

                              1. \u201cJesus is crazy. He thinks he came down from heaven.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                Jn. 6:38. \u201cI have come down from heaven.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

                                  \n
                                1. \u201cJesus is crazy.\u00a0 He thinks he is one of the gods, older than Abraham.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                  Jn. 8:56. \u201cY<\/em>our father Abraham was overjoyed that he might see my day, and he saw\u00a0it<\/em>, and rejoiced.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

                                    \n
                                  1. \u201cJesus is so proud that he thinks he is greater than the wise men and prophets.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                    Mt. 13:17. \u201cTruly, I tell\u00a0y<\/em>ou that many prophets and righteous men longed to see the things\u00a0y<\/em>ou\u2019re seeing, and didn\u2019t see them, and to hear the things\u00a0y<\/em>ou\u2019re hearing, and didn\u2019t hear them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

                                    1. \u201cJesus thinks he has magical building powers.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                      Jn. 2:19.\u00a0\u201cJesus said to them, \u2018Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

                                        \n
                                      1. \u201cJesus commands his followers to sell all their possessions and follow him.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                        Lk. 18:22. When Jesus heard these\u00a0words<\/em>, he said to him, \u201cThere is still one thing missing in you. Sell everything you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and then come, follow me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

                                        This is hilarious.\u00a0 And so amazing! \u00a0 Jesus really is a cult leader\u2026 which lets you off the hook, Pastor John!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
