{"id":14042,"date":"2023-08-15T14:12:09","date_gmt":"2023-08-15T14:12:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=14042"},"modified":"2023-08-15T14:12:09","modified_gmt":"2023-08-15T14:12:09","slug":"the-world-in-mans-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/14042\/the-world-in-mans-heart\/","title":{"rendered":"The World in Man&#8217;s Heart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Tonight, I read from Ecclesiastes 3:10\u201311, &#8220;I have seen the busyness that God has given to the sons of man to keep busy with.\u00a0 He has made everything beautiful in its time.\u00a0 He has also put the world in their heart, so that man cannot discover what God has done from beginning to end.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">That is really something to read and to know He has taken the world OUT of our hearts.\u00a0 He lets us know His story! \u00a0It touched me to read that!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">========<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #0013a3\"><em>Yes, Beth.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #0013a3\"><em>The world is in everyone&#8217;s heart until Christ circumcises the world from our hearts by the Spirit.\u00a0 That is something to be very thankful for!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>========<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">What does the word &#8220;Ecclesiastes&#8221; mean?\u00a0 Does it mean something, or was it just another name for Solomon?<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Beth D.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">========<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #0013a3\">The word &#8220;Ecclesiastes&#8221; comes from the Hebrew word, \u201cQoheleth\u201d.\u00a0 Some actually use that name for the book instead of Ecclesiastes.\u00a0 It apparently means something like &#8220;a gatherer of the Assembly&#8221; or &#8220;one who speaks to the Assembly&#8221;.\u00a0 &#8220;The preacher (or pastor)&#8221; is another option.\u00a0 If we choose that translation, the King James Version may have it right: The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.<span style=\"font-family: times new roman, serif;font-size: large\">\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #0013a3\"><em>We chose, at least for now, to translate that first verses of the\u00a0book like this:<\/em><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: xx-small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><em><span style=\"color: #0013a3\">1. The words of Ecclesiastes, son of David, king in Jerusalem.<\/span><\/em><\/div>\n<div><em><span style=\"color: #0013a3\">2.
