3:33"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Good morning John,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">I enjoyed reading Lamentations this morning (our translation is so good!) \u00a0Some verses in Chapter 3 stood out to me for their encouragement.\u00a0 Some reminded me of Job and also made me thankful to understand\u00a0that, as Paul said, \u201cAll things work together for the good of them who love God and are the called according to His purpose.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Here are a few highlights that I wrote down from Chapter 3:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">21\u201323.\u00a0 This will I bring to mind; in this, I will have hope: The loving kindness of Jehovah, for it never ceases; His compassions<u>,<\/u>\u00a0for they\u00a0never end; they are new every morning.\u00a0 O great is your faithfulness!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">(<em>Amen!\u00a0 We\u00a0<u>know<\/u>\u00a0this from our own experiences!<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\" start=\"24\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Jehovah is my portion, says my soul; therefore, I will hope in Him.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">(<em>I love that my soul, through the holy Ghost, tells me that Jesus is my portion,.\u00a0\u00a0And because he is my only portion, I have put all of my hope in Him!<\/em><strong>)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\" start=\"26\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">It is good both to hope and quietly\u00a0<u>wait <\/u>for the salvation of Jehovah.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">(<em>We are not saved yet, but it\u2019s good to have hope.<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\" start=\"32\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">For though He cause grief, yet will He have compassion according to the abundance of His lovingkindness<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">(<em>This is so encouraging.\u00a0 He won\u2019t give us more than our faith can handle.\u00a0 And it\u2019s comforting to know that God is the One causing our grief, and not the devil.\u00a0 Grief from God comes from a heart full of love and mercy with a purpose for our good!<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">37-38.\u00a0 Who says \u201cthis\u201d, and it comes to pass if my Lord has not commanded it?\u00a0 Out of the mouth of the Most High comes evil and good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">(<em>The message on \u201cAll things\u201d again!<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\" start=\"41\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Let us lift up our hearts with our hands to God in the heavens!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">(<em>I love the thought of our hearts being lifted up to the heavens every time our hands go up to praise Him!!<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">I had a question about verse 33: \u201cFor He does not\u00a0<u>willfully<\/u>\u00a0afflict and grieve the children of men.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Does this mean God doesn\u2019t afflict a man without purpose?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Sending you all a hug this morning!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span #0000ff\"><em>Hi Lee Ann,<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">I am glad you have gotten so much out of Lamentations.\u00a0\u00a0There is so much good there!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">As for verse 33, \u201cHe does not\u00a0<u>willfully<\/u>\u00a0afflict and grieve the children of men,\u201d that means that God would rather not afflict, but He is determined to do what is best for us, and often, that means to put us through a trial.\u00a0\u00a0As Sister Tracey said some years ago, \u201cGod puts us through things to get us past things.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0That statement could be in the Bible!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color:
