{"id":14276,"date":"2023-10-16T20:00:47","date_gmt":"2023-10-16T20:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=14276"},"modified":"2023-10-16T20:00:47","modified_gmt":"2023-10-16T20:00:47","slug":"the-choice-to-be-holy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/14276\/the-choice-to-be-holy\/","title":{"rendered":"The Choice To Be Holy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Beth and I were discussing today&#8217;s wonderful meeting, and we had to consider what an honor and a privilege from God it is to be given a CHOICE to be holy!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Men whose hearts\u00a0haven&#8217;t been\u00a0touched by God\u00a0cannot choose to be holy because holiness isn&#8217;t in a man; it isn&#8217;t of this world.\u00a0\u00a0Without God&#8217;s help, men\u00a0can only choose a path devised from their own sinful heart.\u00a0\u00a0Some sins\u00a0look\u00a0better\u00a0than others, and sins that are decorated with money or education often appear\u00a0to be good, or\u00a0not as bad, but it is all just sin if it comes from the heart of a man.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus said so.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Holiness is from God, not man, and it is not an option for us humans unless Jesus takes his abode in our hearts.\u00a0\u00a0Then (and only then) do we have the choice to die out to the fleshly nature we are born into,\u00a0so we can live according to the new nature of the holy One who now abides in our hearts.\u00a0\u00a0And we will all be judged in the end\u00a0according to our choice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">There are about\u00a0seven\u00a0billion people\u00a0on\u00a0earth\u00a0now,\u00a0and only those who have been filled with the holy Ghost can make the choice to live a holy life in Christ so that\u00a0they\u00a0can one day meet God in peace.
