{"id":14290,"date":"2023-10-27T00:05:30","date_gmt":"2023-10-27T00:05:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=14290"},"modified":"2023-10-27T00:05:30","modified_gmt":"2023-10-27T00:05:30","slug":"suffering-and-faith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/14290\/suffering-and-faith\/","title":{"rendered":"Suffering and Faith"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Hi Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">I am up thinking about Job this morning.\u00a0\u00a0As you and Jesus have been taking us through Job, I have tried to imagine how he felt in the day-to-day suffering. I know I have no idea how awful some of those days really were, or how encouraged Job felt on some of those days either.\u00a0\u00a0I spent the last week with this migraine and just to see how I felt, in my heart, after mere days of pain, puts more awe in my heart for Job.\u00a0\u00a0What a heart God gave Job!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">When Jesus lifted that pain in my head and then it came back worse than it had been, my first thought\u00a0\u2013\u2013\u00a0my very first thought \u2013\u2013\u00a0was, &#8220;Are you mad at me Jesus?\u00a0\u00a0What did I do wrong, Lord?&#8221;\u00a0 That hurt worse than the pain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">At times,\u00a0I would lie perfectly still and try to take the pain,\u00a0and at other times, I would cry and beg Jesus to please take it away, telling him I couldn&#8217;t take another day of it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">When I looked up pain in the scriptures, I found this one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Job 16:6<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\" start=\"6\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">If I speak, my pain is not relieved, and if I forbear, what\u00a0pain of mine leaves?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">To see and feel that for just a moment,\u00a0and then to think of Job, does something more to my heart about what kind of heart he must have had.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">God has children here with us right now\u00a0who\u00a0struggle to breathe every day, that have painful procedures to endure, that have cancer, that have lonely, hurting hearts.\u00a0To see them and their beautiful hearts as they go through these things makes me love them more and more.\u00a0\u00a0It also puts a deeper prayer in my heart for Jesus to encourage and to comfort each one of them as they go through these things.\u00a0A touch to feel Jesus there does so much.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">What a beautiful story of God we have here in front of us!\u00a0\u00a0And what beautiful hearts He put in it!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Beth D.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">========<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><em>Thank you, Beth, for that precious testimony.\u00a0 I believe that it is a seed that is now planted for your healing, and I believe you will reap what you have sown.\u00a0 May God give the increase!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><em>Pastor John<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi Pastor John, I am up thinking about Job this morning.\u00a0\u00a0As you and Jesus have been taking us through Job, I have tried to imagine how he felt in the day-to-day suffering.
