Good morning, Pastor John!<\/span><\/p>\n

I was thinking about fearing God this morning.\u00a0 Why people don’t want to fear Him.\u00a0\u00a0Why I didn’t want to fear Him in my past, before I knew better.\u00a0 I know this is a decision and something that is being taught,\u00a0like God’s mythical\u00a0“unconditional love”\u00a0is\u00a0a favorite saying among Christians now.\u00a0\u00a0The thought, “not fearing God is the worst form of arrogance humans have,”\u00a0was put on my heart.\u00a0 This feels right to me, but I have never had that thought before.\u00a0 I wanted to share this thought.\u00a0 I feel like His Spirit put that in my heart. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I believe that is true.\u00a0 It has always seemed incredible to God when mere humans dared not fear Him.\u00a0 These verses from Jeremiah come to mind:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

5:21. Hear this, if\u00a0you will, O foolish and senseless people!\u00a0\u00a0(They have eyes, but they cannot see; they have ears, but they cannot hear.)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

22. Will you not fear me, says the Lord, nor tremble before me\u203d Who made sand a boundary for the sea by an eternal decree, that it cannot pass beyond.\u00a0\u00a0Yea, its waves rush back and forth, and roar, but they are unable to go beyond it.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

23. But this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart; they are turned aside and gone.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

10:7. Who would not fear you, O King of the nations?\u00a0\u00a0For it is your due.\u00a0\u00a0For among all the wise men of the nations, and among all their kingdoms, there is none like you.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

32:37. Watch me!\u00a0\u00a0I will gather them from all the countries to which I banished them in my anger, and in my wrath, and in my great indignation, and I will bring them back to this place and cause them to dwell safely,<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

38. and they will be my people, and I will be their God.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

39. And I will give them one heart and one way, that they might fear me always, for their good and for the good of their children after them.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
