{"id":14321,"date":"2023-11-12T17:13:41","date_gmt":"2023-11-12T17:13:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pjhmail.wordpress.com\/?p=14321"},"modified":"2023-11-12T17:13:41","modified_gmt":"2023-11-12T17:13:41","slug":"perfection-has-to-die","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/14321\/perfection-has-to-die\/","title":{"rendered":"Perfection Has to Die"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">I feel like you taught us the foundation of the gospel this evening, or part of it.\u00a0\u00a0That is: Perfection (on earth) has to die!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">That truth is a line in the sand.\u00a0\u00a0A line between this world and the place where God lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">God is on the other side of human perfection!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Jesus, of his own will, carried the same perfection Job was laboring to defend, to the cross. Jesus took a spotless, blameless, perfect lamb (himself) and destroyed it\u00a0&#8220;without cause&#8221;\u00a0(without sin)\u00a0to teach us!\u00a0\u00a0Jesus was teaching us the gospel &#8211; that the way to his\u00a0Father was beyond human perfection, and he killed it openly for the whole world to see.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">No wonder the\u00a0Pharisees hated Jesus so;\u00a0they loved being perfect, and Jesus was showing the world it was worthless!\u00a0\u00a0Glory to God!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">If we love being right, if we love being good, if we love being perfect, we are going to hate the gospel\u00a0because the message of the holy gospel is that our perfection has to die, so that in us, He can live!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Hahaha!\u00a0\u00a0That is so good!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">I felt like I was floating when I left there this evening, like I had left this world for a while.
