{"id":14607,"date":"2024-01-29T10:14:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-29T15:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=14607"},"modified":"2024-02-28T10:16:13","modified_gmt":"2024-02-28T15:16:13","slug":"liberty-of-individual-conscience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/14607\/liberty-of-individual-conscience\/","title":{"rendered":"Liberty of Individual Conscience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: black;\">John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: black;\">Reading through\u00a0Christian history,\u00a0I like to touch base with someone that has my safety rope.\u00a0\u00a0It seems a prudent thought to me that false religion tries to get in a place only God belongs,\u00a0and that is in their conscience.\u00a0\u00a0Not sure I can get the words correct,\u00a0but influencing their conscience belongs to God not man.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: black;\">If any of us can\u2019t do something with a clear conscience,\u00a0it is sin,\u00a0and that could be different for each one of us.\u00a0\u00a0Your\u00a0father\u00a0had liberty that most\u00a0of God&#8217;s people\u00a0haven\u2019t experienced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: black;\">Wendell<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: black;\">===========<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: blue;\">Hi Wendell,<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: blue;\">You are right about reading the history that Christianity has provided for the world.\u00a0 It is a snake pit.\u00a0 But Jesus said that God&#8217;s people, by the power of the Spirit, would be able\u00a0take up serpents and not be harmed (Mk. 16:18), so we can go ahead and dive in.\u00a0 He will take care of us.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: blue;\">You are also right about my father.\u00a0 He and other saints walked close enough with God to grow to understand &#8220;the liberty of the sons of God&#8221;.\u00a0 According to his own testimony, he went too far in that liberty a few times and had to repent and learn to walk in love and consider the hearts of weaker brothers and sisters.\u00a0 But the important thing is that he did\u00a0learn.\u00a0 And, my, how that has benefited so many souls!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: blue;\">As for your principal point, it frightens me to think of entering into that place in hearts where no one but Jesus belongs.\u00a0 I call it the place of feelings, which is associated with the conscience.\u00a0 To manipulate a child of God&#8217;s feelings so that he acts against his conscience is a sin against Christ, and I do not go there.\u00a0 May God save us from ever trespassing into that Most Holy Place.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: blue;\">Thank you for the comments.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: Arial; color: blue;\">Pastor John<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John, Reading through\u00a0Christian history,\u00a0I like to touch base with someone that has my safety rope.\u00a0\u00a0It seems a prudent thought to me that false religion tries to get in a place only God belongs,\u00a0and that is in their conscience.\u00a0\u00a0Not sure I can get the words correct,\u00a0but influencing their conscience belongs to God not man.
