Hi Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n

I am working in Virginia today,\u00a0and I spent the morning thinking on the reading from\u00a0God Had a Son before Mary Did\u00a0and what I felt last night.<\/span><\/p>\n

I came into the meeting so exhausted.\u00a0\u00a0We have both been working very hard to do things to the new house so that we can move in.\u00a0\u00a0As I sat there last night, I could feel the rest that we were talking about.\u00a0\u00a0The real rest and the refreshing that comes from Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0I had to close my eyes and just breathe it in.\u00a0\u00a0I have spent this whole drive to Virginia letting it soak in how merciful and true what Jesus said he would give us really is.\u00a0\u00a0It is one thing to read about it but it is so wonderful to sit in that room and experience it as we go.\u00a0\u00a0I remember what living in this world did to me before Jesus came for me. I understand to some degree what Solomon felt and what he was so desperately longing for.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the part called “The Spirit or the Flesh”, you quoted Paul: “But the fruit of God\u2019s nature is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, faith, meekness, self control.\u00a0\u00a0Against such, there is no law.”\u00a0\u00a0Just reading that felt so good.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus once told me in 2012 that there was only the spirit and the flesh.\u00a0\u00a0He put that in my heart in the very beginning.\u00a0\u00a0Just that title stirs my heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

And when we read\u00a0“Filled Not Touched”, I felt the Amen!\u00a0\u00a0I thought of my recent visit with\u00a0a\u00a0dear relative of mine\u00a0and some feelings I had after that visit.\u00a0\u00a0Just a touch is not enough.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus did not die for\u00a0anyone\u00a0to stop at just a touch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I used to wonder if I would ever know how true the truth is, like Jerry talked about knowing.\u00a0It brings tears to my eyes to realize somewhere along the way Jesus has been making sure I do.\u00a0\u00a0Somewhere along the way,\u00a0he has put it in my heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

I looked up some verses on rest, thinking about what I wanted to find,\u00a0but what stood out to me most was these verses:<\/span><\/p>\n

Isaiah 28:12\u00a0\u2013 \u201c . .\u00a0to whom He said,\u00a0‘This is the\u00a0rest\u00a0with which you will cause the weary one to\u00a0rest, and, This is the refreshing.\u00a0 Yet, they would\u00a0not listen.’\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Prov. 6:10 \u2013 \u201cA little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to\u00a0rest\u00a0. . .<\/span><\/p>\n

Prov. 21:16\u00a0\u00a0\u2013 \u201cThe one who wanders out of the way of understanding shall find\u00a0rest\u00a0in the congregation of the dead.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am so thankful for\u00a0God’s\u00a0rest!<\/span><\/p>\n
