{"id":14799,"date":"2024-06-19T18:38:25","date_gmt":"2024-06-19T23:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=14799"},"modified":"2024-06-21T18:56:48","modified_gmt":"2024-06-21T23:56:48","slug":"new-remembers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/14799\/new-remembers\/","title":{"rendered":"New &#8220;Remembers&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Wow!\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to read the rest of Chapter 6 tonight.\u00a0 These \u201cRemembers\u201d are so good.\u00a0 The section on \u201cGod Took Him There\u201d was especially good to me.\u00a0 And these specific ones:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">God is patient with us because He is so determined to bless us, just as He was determined to bless Job<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To be carried by God is the only way anyone ever gets to the \u201csecret place of the Most High&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">None of us who have God\u2019s kind of life have it because\u00a0<u>we<\/u>wanted it; we have it because\u00a0<u>He<\/u>\u00a0wanted us<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">God had to create in us a hunger for His kind of life, and when He did that, we fell on our knees and sought Him for the relief from ourselves that His Spirit brings \u00a0(this is so good to think about!!!)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">That last one made me stop and remember when God began to create that hunger in my young, 29-year-old self.\u00a0 I was hungry, even though I had no idea where or how to begin seeking Him.\u00a0 The only thing I thought to do was read my Bible, so I began in Genesis and planned to read straight through. \u00a0(We just take our little baby steps and Jesus will meet us there:)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Around that same time, I was at Mama\u2019s house one Sunday afternoon and \u201chappened\u201d to pick up a \u00a0Davidson County Community College flier and saw your Old Testament class was being offered.\u00a0 Something inside of me felt excited!\u00a0 I had no idea what the class would involve or anything about its teacher, but I knew I wanted to sign up.\u00a0 Leading up to the class, however, several people thwarted my excitement by telling me how boring \u201creligion\u201d classes had been for them.\u00a0 As I was walking out the door for the first night of class, I felt a little apprehensive about going.
