Good morning,<\/span><\/p>\n

I am sitting here reading in Genesis and feeling overwhelmed with what I am feeling.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jacob said to Joseph as he was dying, \u201cThe God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked is the God who has been my shepherd since I was born until this day\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I had to stop and cry at the thought that I can say just like Jacob, “God has been my shepherd since I was born until this day.”\u00a0 The very same God that loved Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Job, Hannah, David, Hezekiah, Josiah, Daniel, etc, and took such complete care of them through their good and hard times, is the same God that loves me!\u00a0 He hasn\u2019t changed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When I look up at\u00a0the stars and talk to Jesus, I imagine when Abraham was doing the same.\u00a0 He stood under the exact same stars and talked to my exact same Father.\u00a0 But here\u2019s the thing.\u00a0 When faithful Abraham (whom God called His friend), was standing there having a wonderful conversation with his Father, he had no idea that his Father was hiding His dear Son\u00a0and that\u00a0Abraham would later \u201crejoice to see His day.\u201d\u00a0 (Whew!\u00a0 I am rejoicing right now!)<\/span><\/p>\n

When God told Abraham that night under the stars that his seed would be more than the number of stars in the sky,\u00a0Genesis\u00a015:6 says \u201cAbraham believed Jehovah, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.\u201d\u00a0 Abraham was as righteous as humanly possible, but he, just like everyone else, needed the kind of righteousness that only his Father\u2019s dear Son could bring.\u00a0 I\u2019ve heard you say it so many times, \u201cEverything depended on Jesus!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

So, here we are!\u00a0 I can stand under those same stars and talk to my Father, but His dear Son is no longer hidden.\u00a0 When I look up and think about being one of those stars, as I often do, I know who made that possible for me!\u00a0 We don\u2019t just get a taste of New Testament mercy, we are living under that New Testament mercy.\u00a0 Mercy is dwelling inside of us, helping us, teaching us, loving us.\u00a0 Can we even take that in?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I am sacrificing my thankful heart to Jesus this morning!\u00a0 So thankful to have this testimony, and most of all, to have someone I can tell it to!\u00a0 Now, if I just had somebody I could hug right now!!:)<\/span><\/p>\n
