{"id":14858,"date":"2024-07-13T09:25:07","date_gmt":"2024-07-13T14:25:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=14858"},"modified":"2024-07-16T09:30:13","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T14:30:13","slug":"anointed-priest-leviticus-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/14858\/anointed-priest-leviticus-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Anointed Priest &#8211; Leviticus 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hey,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sometimes I notice things in the scriptures that I just wonder about,\u00a0whether\u00a0or not\u00a0they are significant.\u00a0 In Leviticus 4, there are four sin offerings mentioned.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The anointed priest sins (vv. 3-12).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The whole congregation of Israel sins (vv. 13-21).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A prince sins (vv. 22-26).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">One of the people sins (vv. 27-35)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the first two cases only, some of the blood of the sin offering was taken within the tabernacle and spattered on the veil and put on the horns of the incense altar.\u00a0 In both cases, it initially says that the\u00a0<strong>anointed priest<\/strong>\u00a0shall bring some of the blood of the bullock into the tent of meeting (vv. 5, 16).\u00a0 In the remaining two cases, it refers only to a\u00a0<strong>priest<\/strong>\u00a0putting the blood on the altar of burnt offering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Hebrew for anointed priest is literally, &#8220;the priest,\u00a0the Messiah&#8221;.\u00a0 The article is on both words.\u00a0 This expression is reserved for the one who takes the blood into the tabernacle.\u00a0 This act was the closest resemblance, outside of the ritual on the Day for Atonements itself, to Christ&#8217;s offering of his blood in heaven.\u00a0 In heaven, it was certainly &#8220;the priest, the Messiah&#8221; who offered the blood.\u00a0 Leviticus 4 seems to be precise in its language regarding these sacrifices.\u00a0 It is at least interesting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Damien<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">==========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>I suspect you are on to something, Damien, but it will take the Spirit to make it clear.\u00a0 One thing I can say for\u00a0certain, though.\u00a0 Since Jesus is the &#8220;Prince of life&#8221;, we do not have to worry about anyone needing to make a sin offering for him!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Pastor John<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tell us what you think:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/WitnessofSpirit\/status\/1813219358195245079\">https:\/\/x.com\/WitnessofSpirit\/status\/1813219358195245079<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey, Sometimes I notice things in the scriptures that I just wonder about,\u00a0whether\u00a0or not\u00a0they are significant.\u00a0 In Leviticus 4, there are four sin offerings mentioned.
