{"id":15178,"date":"2024-11-20T19:45:09","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T00:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=15178"},"modified":"2024-11-21T19:50:05","modified_gmt":"2024-11-22T00:50:05","slug":"question-regarding-luke-1152","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/15178\/question-regarding-luke-1152\/","title":{"rendered":"Question regarding Luke 11:52"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There is so much said in Luke 11,\u00a0and so much instruction!\u00a0 I know that\u00a0 you know it, but it is so good reading it!\u00a0\u00a0It makes me think of Damien &#8216;s testimony: the Truth is everywhere when God opens your eyes to see it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I have a question about verse\u00a052.\u00a0\u00a0This was before Jesus died, but was Jesus speaking of what was to come, or is there another meaning for that\u00a0time as well?\u00a0\u00a0What would be the key of knowledge if not the holy Ghost?\u00a0\u00a0Was Jesus referring to himself and his death that they pleaded to Pilate for?\u00a0\u00a0What did they think he was talking about?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Luke 11:52. \u201cWoe to\u00a0<em>y<\/em>ou experts in the law!\u00a0<strong><em>Y<\/em>ou took away the key of knowledge!<\/strong>\u00a0<em>Y<\/em>ou\u00a0<em>y<\/em>ourselves don\u2019t enter in, and\u00a0<em>y<\/em>ou hinder those who are entering.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Beth D.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">==========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Hi Beth,<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>I do not know what Jesus meant by \u201cthe key of knowledge\u201d, but I feel sure that it had something to do with Jewish leaders exalting the traditions of their elders to the level of Moses\u2019 law.\u00a0\u00a0When ministers make a tradition as important as God\u2019s commandments, it confuses people as to what is holy and what is not.\u00a0\u00a0It has happened through the millennia, and it happens all the time now, that certain church traditions are considered holy and are exalted as highly as things that really are of God.\u00a0\u00a0And God\u2019s dear children who have joined themselves to Christianity\u2019s churches stay confused by that.\u00a0\u00a0Thank God, we have escaped that snare!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>As for what Jesus\u2019 listeners thought he was talking about, that is anybody\u2019s guess.\u00a0\u00a0It was probably all over the place.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Thanks for the question.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Pastor John<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tell us what you think:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/WitnessofSpirit\/status\/1859761022816641470\">https:\/\/x.com\/WitnessofSpirit\/status\/1859761022816641470<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pastor John, There is so much said in Luke 11,\u00a0and so much instruction!\u00a0 I know that\u00a0 you know it, but it is so good reading it!\u00a0\u00a0It makes me think of Damien &#8216;s testimony: the Truth is everywhere when God opens your eyes to see it.
