I have a question about the gifts mention in Hebrews 8 and 9:<\/span><\/p>\n

Hebrews 8:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Now the sum of what is being said\u00a0is this: we have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. a minister of the sanctuary, even the true tabernacle which the Lord pitched, and not man.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Now, every high priest is ordained to make offerings of both\u00a0gifts <\/strong>and sacrifices; therefore, it was necessary that this man also have something to offer.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. And if he was on earth, he would not be a priest, there being priests already who offer\u00a0gifts <\/strong>according to the law,<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Hebrews 9:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. the holy Spirit indicating this: the way into the holiest place was not yet revealed as long as the first tabernacle still had a purpose,<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. which was a figure for the time that has come, during which are being offered\u00a0gifts <\/strong>and sacrifices that are powerless to perfect, as concerns the conscience, the one performing the rites,<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      What were the gifts that were offered?\u00a0\u00a0I cannot remember gifts, just sacrifices.\u00a0\u00a0I remember incense ( prayers of the saints) and fat of the lamb.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The gifts mention in Hebrews 8 are the offerings that people were required to bring.\u00a0\u00a0But thankful hearts often went beyond that.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

      The door was always open for God\u2019s people to bring Him gifts beyond the tithes and offerings which the law required.\u00a0\u00a0Such gifts could take any form.\u00a0\u00a0In various places in the Old Testament, we see that being done, such as when the Shunnamite couple built a room onto their house so the Elisha might have a place to rest when he passed by that way.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

      Does that have anything to do with the gifts of the spirit that come with God’s spirit?\u00a0 Does it represent the shadow of gifts of the spirit?<\/span><\/p>\n

      No.\u00a0\u00a0Those are gifts that God gives to us, not vice-versa.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
