Hey Pastor John,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve had this saved in my inbox since it was sent.\u00a0\u00a0Today was one of my days off, since I worked this past weekend, so I sat down and listened to it this morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the past couple of months, I\u2019ve wanted to study the basics.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019ve grown up in the truth and believe it,\u00a0and feel it\u2019s right.\u00a0\u00a0But, I really want to know it and understand it.\u00a0\u00a0And, even if I\u2019ve heard it before, there\u2019s always something more to get from it;\u00a0it never gets old.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s a handful of us that have been reading on Sunday nights at Aunt Lee Ann\u2019s, and I\u2019ve loved it.\u00a0 I am thankful I am here to be a part of it.\u00a0\u00a0When it was my turn to pick something to read, I kept thinking about “the basics\u201d.\u00a0 I could hear you saying, \u201cYou never want to get far away from the basics.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0There was a Youtube video on \u201cSome Basics of the Gospel\u201d (https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OVUpSemIIgk<\/a><\/span>) and another video called \u201cThe Minimum Requirements of God\u201d.(https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=NP3JbHihGYo<\/a><\/span>)\u00a0 \u00a0We read over some notes from that, and it was so good!<\/span><\/p>\n

I looked over all the gospel tracts online and picked some I thought fit \u201cthe basics\u201d \u2026 there were several, one of them being, \u201cThe Sacrifice of Christ\u201d, and this video explains it perfectly.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019m thankful for what I can understand and feel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One thing you said that touched me was, \u201cYour Holy Ghost that is in your body goes through the veil, to the mercy seat of God\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0That\u2019s big.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Later on you said, \u201cThis is eternal life.\u00a0\u00a0This is the point of the Bible.\u00a0\u00a0This is the point of you getting the Holy Ghost.\u00a0\u00a0Don\u2019t take it and play games with it.\u00a0\u00a0Eat it up;\u00a0let it change you.\u00a0\u00a0If you eat this up and love it,\u00a0if\u00a0you consume it, you are going to become a different human being.\u00a0\u00a0It will change your soul.\u00a0\u00a0It will reconfigure your thinking.\u00a0\u00a0It will cause you to be conformed into the image of His\u00a0Son.\u00a0\u00a0Nothing\u00a0on earth\u00a0will do it.\u00a0\u00a0You can\u00a0even\u00a0study the Bible from now until the day you die and not be changed one bit.\u00a0\u00a0The Bible won\u2019t do it;\u00a0the Word of God does it.\u00a0\u00a0The Word of God comes so we can understand the Bible, so we can understand God, understand Jesus, understand one another, understand life.\u00a0\u00a0That\u2019s what the Holy Ghost comes for,\u00a0and without the Holy Ghost, no body understands any of that.\u00a0\u00a0That\u2019s the point,\u00a0the point of the blood being shed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Jesus was on Earth, he couldn\u2019t be a priest;\u00a0God already had an earthly priesthood.\u00a0 But He could be a\u00a0Lamb.\u00a0\u00a0He could be a sacrificial lamb.\u2026\u00a0\u00a0But, on the third day \u2026 all we had was the dead Lamb of God.\u00a0\u00a0There had to be a priest to get it up into heaven;\u00a0so,\u00a0God made\u00a0Jesus\u00a0one.\u00a0God\u00a0raised Him from the dead\u00a0and\u00a0let him stay\u00a0on earth\u00a0a few weeks\u00a0longer\u00a0to make sure the disciples were going to be ready for what was coming.\u2026\u00a0\u00a0When the feet of Jesus left the Mount of Olives, when they got half an inch off the ground, He\u00a0began\u00a0functioning as a priest.\u00a0\u00a0He was entering into\u00a0\/God’s heavenly\u00a0\u00a0tabernacle for the atonement of the sins of the whole nation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m sure I\u2019ve heard that before, but something about it this time hit me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I read the tract, \u201cThe Sacrifice of Christ\u201d, after watching the video. It\u2019s good.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It felt timely, watching this, with Easter coming up.\u00a0\u00a0So many people this Sunday are going to go through rituals and ceremonies, and never know the real truth,\u00a0never get\u00a0the point.\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s humbling to think about what I know; it\u00a0makes me want a deeper understanding, more appreciation for it, and to walk worthy of it.\u00a0\u00a0I am thankful that our Jesus is alive and can change us\u2014can change our thinking \u2026 our souls!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

(It also made me think of Brother Darren’s song, “Beyond the Cross\u201d.)*<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve also enjoyed reading through the different \u201cOnes\u201d in Ephesians.\u00a0 So thank you for taking the time and teaching us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross is mercy, beyond the cross is fire<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond is understanding, that’s meant to take you higher<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross is knowledge, wealth and wisdom too<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross, salvation, that’s meant for me and you<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross is faithfulness, beyond the cross is truth<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross is a simple life, that we can have from youth<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross is discipline, when He sees the need<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross the Father’s love allowed His son to bleed<\/span><\/p>\n

Chorus<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross communion is true fellowship with God<\/span><\/p>\n

Not wine and bread for the world to see<\/span><\/p>\n

The Father has a sabbath not after that of man<\/span><\/p>\n

But spiritual rest for you and me<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross is sweet, sweet life, beyond the cross is love<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross is purity that cometh from above<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross is perfection for those who will believe<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the cross are endless gifts for those who will receive<\/span><\/p>\n
