{"id":15627,"date":"2025-04-29T18:38:46","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T23:38:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=15627"},"modified":"2025-04-30T18:45:04","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T23:45:04","slug":"john-316","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/15627\/john-316\/","title":{"rendered":"John 3:16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I was watching the past meeting because I loved the part\u00a0about\u00a0John 3:16, where you explained\u00a0about God loving us &#8220;in this way&#8221;, instead of &#8220;so much&#8221; (like is taught most everywhere else).\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">God gave us the best thing He had;\u00a0that&#8217;s Jesus, His Son, of course.\u00a0 But I feel that He has given us the best in so many OTHER things, too; it&#8217;s hard to count them all.\u00a0 He gave us you, and he gave us each other, and a love and fellowship that is second to none, as far as we know.\u00a0 He gave us music with truth, and testimonies, and gifts to share, and health and strength, and so many other blessings!\u00a0\u00a0As I said, we couldn&#8217;t even count or list them all.\u00a0 Look at the WAY God has loved us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Here&#8217;s what you said that night, transcribed:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cYou are very, very loved.\u00a0\u00a0Every one of you are loved by God, the creator of the universe.\u00a0\u00a0You are loved!\u00a0\u00a0Paul said in the book of Romans, trying to convince those people how loved they were: \u201cif God spared not his own son how will he not give us whatever else we need\u201d. \u00a0The King James Version says in John 3:16, \u2018God so loved the world.&#8217;\u00a0\u00a0That word \u2018so\u2019 does not mean \u2018so much\u2019.\u00a0 Our translation got the emphasis right: we translated John 3:16, \u201cThis is\u00a0the way\u00a0God loved the world; He gave his only begotten Son.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0John wasn\u2019t saying\u00a0<em>how much\u00a0<\/em>God loves you; he was telling you\u00a0<em>the way<\/em>\u00a0God loves you.
