I love the response that you gave this man. It is not a hard striving but just living in the Spirit this wonderful life that Jesus has given us. Your response felt so sweet and encouraging. We can make it! I can hear Jesus\u2019 calming voice through your response, \u201cCome on, come on!\u201d He has much to show us and love to give us\u2026 through daily living and times when we are on our knees praying or reading the Bible. What a blessed opportunity to enjoy!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wow, this email touched me!<\/span><\/p>\n

Having come to the Truth and Pastor John’s House later in life, I empathize with my brother!\u00a0 I was fortunate that later in my adulthood, going with Jesus (or who I thought in error was Jesus) was always my first choice.\u00a0 He knew my heart WAY before I knew Him.\u00a0 It is great that our brother has reached out for prayer and advice!\u00a0 Someday, I pray he feels the love of the body of Christ strong enough to be open to sharing openly with us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to share with my brother that, looking back, Jesus led me in letting go of the small things first (cigarettes, TV dramas and sitcoms), then He moved me to let go of larger things (bad relationships, self-hating ideas I carried); finally he blessed me with repentance\/conviction and then blessed me with the Holy Ghost.\u00a0 It was at that point that He started working with me on bigger things I needed to let go of – like my identity as a liberal, Black woman.\u00a0 My suggestion to our brother would be to let Him work with you on the small things, like going off Facebook for a while.\u00a0 Taking that small step can lead to taking on larger steps that He might require of you.<\/span><\/p>\n

What a blessing that Jesus loves me so much that He didn’t stop working on me!\u00a0 And, there it is; Jesus doesn’t stop working on us!\u00a0 If we don’t give up on Him, He won’t give up on us!\u00a0 My suggestion to our brother would be to call out to Jesus for help!\u00a0 Call out to Jesus for strength!\u00a0 Call out to Jesus for any and everything he thinks is needed to move through this spot he’s in – to get him “unstuck”.\u00a0 Jesus is our hope; we are not hopeless if we have His life in us!<\/span><\/p>\n

It is always the little things that grow into the big things, if gone unchecked. I remember Ashley’s testimony many years ago when she was corrected for something.\u00a0 With a lot of us, when we were corrected, we went completely to the far right or left.\u00a0 Ashley said her correction was a very small correction and fine-tuning, a slight turn of the dial.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When I was a student pilot, my instructor taught me the small corrections in the beginning of setting up the plane to land lead to small changes just prior to touchdown.\u00a0 He said, “It’s a good landing when you can walk away, but it’s a better one when you can use the same plane the next day.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Most of time all we need is to fine-tune ourselves. And as Ashley explained, it is easy and brings joy.<\/span><\/p>\n

I read this and was taken back because it sounded so much like me! I had to think hard if I wrote this or not…..<\/span><\/p>\n

Even though I didn’t write it, the instruction you gave is perfect!!<\/span><\/p>\n

I have thought for a long time that I don’t want to bother you with stuff concerning me or my family, because you have more important things to do! That I should be able to handle things.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am thankful that we can come to you in matters like this and get guidance and that it is “small adjustments” like Billy said.<\/span><\/p>\n
