Hey Pastor John.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alex and I just finished up reading Hosea.<\/span><\/p>\n

I knew that Hosea was commanded to take an ungodly wife.\u00a0\u00a0I didn’t realize\u00a0she\u00a0was a representation of Israel’s unfaithfulness\u00a0to God.\u00a0\u00a0What a heap of faith that took!\u00a0\u00a0I’m not sure what I would do if I was commanded to do something that feels contrary to what seems right.\u00a0\u00a0I would hope I would obey\u00a0Him.\u00a0\u00a0It helped me see your message even better on the perfect law of liberty,\u00a0and God not living by rules or playbooks.\u00a0\u00a0He can use anything and anyone for an example.\u00a0\u00a0Even if we don’t understand why, it’s for a purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

So much love and anger in one book!\u00a0\u00a0I told Alex a few times I wanted to hide under the bed.\u00a0\u00a0You could feel the anger reading. It reminded me of myself as a parent sometimes.\u00a0\u00a0Getting so frustrated on one hand, handing down punishments, but then the next thing, just wanting them to let you love them, and begging for someone to do the right thing.\u00a0\u00a0It really let me see God’s love for Israel.\u00a0\u00a0Even today.\u00a0\u00a0How He only wants them to do right and allow Him to love them.\u00a0\u00a0And it let me see myself and the emotions I feel on this earth in a different light as well.\u00a0\u00a0I was thinking,\u00a0Lord,\u00a0you understand how I feel, you feel this way too.<\/em>\u00a0That’s true about all of us at one point or another.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hosea 3:5\u00a0says, “Afterward, the children of Israel will repent and seek Jehovah their God and David their King.\u00a0\u00a0Yea, in the latter days, they will come in fear to Jehovah and to His Good One.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u00a0is talking about the Son when he says His Good One, correct?\u00a0\u00a0Did anyone know during Hosea’s time that the Messiah was coming, or was\u00a0that\u00a0it these prophecies would come but they had no clue what that meant?\u00a0\u00a0I really love that he called Jesus his\u00a0Good\u00a0One!<\/span><\/p>\n

I am happy that you and Alex are being blessed by reading Hosea.\u00a0 To answer your questions:\u00a0\u00a0Yes, the “Good One” was God’s hidden Son.\u00a0 And yes, Israel knew that a Messiah was coming, but no one knew about God’s Son in heaven.\u00a0 He was hidden from everyone until he was revealed in Jesus.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
