{"id":15927,"date":"2025-09-05T09:44:25","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T14:44:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=15927"},"modified":"2025-09-08T09:46:05","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T14:46:05","slug":"lay-it-down-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/15927\/lay-it-down-3\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Lay it down\u201d, 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I sure appreciate Gary&#8217;s articulate, insightful, and brutally honest explanation of his experience in Laying it Down:\u00a0laying\u00a0down the need to prove one&#8217;s rightness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I am fortunate\u00a0(very blessed) to finally have a wife who is so self-aware and honest and correctable that we seldom have major disagreements.\u00a0 And I have grown\u00a0to be the same; very open and willing to admit my wrong viewpoint.\u00a0 If\/when we do have a quarrel; we resolve them quickly with full transparency and forgiveness.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Laying down my &#8220;factual&#8221; arguments has been a step in the right\u00a0direction\u00a0for averting strife in our relationship.\u00a0 I know I might be &#8220;right&#8221; based on my research\u00a0or influenced perhaps by the algorithms\u00a0I see continually that support\u00a0my point of view.\u00a0\u00a0But lately, she\u00a0and I have realized it&#8217;s just a bunch of opinions\u00a0out there, and whether or not she sees a more Liberal\u00a0perspective\u00a0and I a more conservative one, it isn&#8217;t worth getting\u00a0in the flesh\u00a0and arguing\u00a0about it.\u00a0 Most things we\u00a0do\u00a0agree on, and for that,\u00a0we&#8217;re both grateful to God for our companionship.\u00a0 I thank\u00a0God that Allison is a very communicative woman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It feels GOOD to lay down our &#8220;arms&#8221; and ammunition and just\u00a0LIVE\u00a0in the SPIRIT of LOVE.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There is, indeed, healing\u00a0in that, as Gary said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Your lesson last night was thrilling by the points that you\u00a0emphasized!\u00a0 I want to listen\u00a0to it again and again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Brad<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pastor John, I sure appreciate Gary&#8217;s articulate, insightful, and brutally honest explanation of his experience in Laying it Down:\u00a0laying\u00a0down the need to prove one&#8217;s rightness.
