{"id":15939,"date":"2025-09-16T10:36:18","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T15:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=15939"},"modified":"2025-09-17T10:37:44","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T15:37:44","slug":"lessons-from-isaiah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/15939\/lessons-from-isaiah\/","title":{"rendered":"Lessons from Isaiah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Whew!\u00a0\u00a0In the\u00a0<em>Lessons from Isaiah<\/em>\u00a0manuscript that I am proof-reading, I\u00a0have read Lesson 4,\u00a0&#8220;Devilish Wisdom&#8221;,\u00a0multiple times,\u00a0and I keep going back to it.\u00a0\u00a0Today I read\u00a0Lesson 8,\u00a0&#8220;Two Choices&#8221;,\u00a0and it is so good!\u00a0\u00a0It has struck me that when we struggle against doing it God&#8217;s way,\u00a0we are just wanting our way.\u00a0\u00a0Leaves me praying to &#8220;go limp&#8221; to\u00a0do it\u00a0God&#8217;s way!\u00a0\u00a0This reading\u00a0is so good that it leaves the feeling everyone should see this!\u00a0 I am\u00a0continue to read, but I can&#8217;t leave\u00a0Lessons\u00a04 and 8 yet.\u00a0\u00a0I am not done chewing!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">RE:\u00a0Jn. 8:44 \u2013\u00a0When God\u2019s children choose not to do His will, and yet they continue to\u00a0maintain an appearance of righteousness, they become \u201cchildren of the devil\u201d\u00a0instead of children of God, for that is what the devil did.\u00a0\u00a0He tries to look good,\u00a0but\u00a0he is no longer truly good.\u00a0\u00a0The devil did not love the truth that God taught\u00a0him; he loved himself more. Maintaining an appearance of righteousness\u00a0without really doing the will of God is not the will of God, and if we do the\u00a0devil\u2019s will instead of God\u2019s, then we will share in the devil\u2019s coming\u00a0judgment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">John 8:44\u00a0&#8220;<em>Y<\/em>ou are of\u00a0<em>your<\/em>\u00a0father, the Accuser, and\u00a0<em>y<\/em>ou want to carry out the desires of\u00a0<em>y<\/em>our father.\u00a0\u00a0He was a murderer from the beginning, and he has not continued in the truth because truth isn\u2019t in him.
