{"id":16004,"date":"2025-12-27T14:45:41","date_gmt":"2025-12-27T19:45:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=16004"},"modified":"2025-12-30T14:50:48","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T19:50:48","slug":"matthew-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/16004\/matthew-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Matthew Study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hey Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Today I was cleaning out and organizing my desk and ran across some notes I had taken when we we&#8217;re doing the Matthew study.\u00a0 I know it&#8217;s long but it is so good.\u00a0 It encouraged\u00a0and blessed me today so I wanted to pass it on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I feel very loved and overwhelmed with thankfulness!\u00a0 He has been so, so good to us!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Michelle<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u>Notes from Matthew study<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nobody knew God.\u00a0 Nobody knows God.\u00a0 He chose you!\u00a0 It\u2019s by the spirit He is revealed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus died for us!\u00a0 What love!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You are blessed!\u00a0 You are happy!\u00a0 To you it has been given! What is that worth to you?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Stop carrying your gift around!\u00a0 Open it up and play with it.\u00a0 God wants you to know yourself in Christ.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You have the key to open the doors of the rich chambers of God!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The knowledge of God is in your gut; it\u2019s not in your head.\u00a0 It\u2019s something that rises up out of your belly like a river flowing.\u00a0 That\u2019s the kingdom of God \u2013 that\u2019s the knowledge of God.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The knowledge of God is to feel the truth!\u00a0 It senses what God wants and what He\u2019s thinking!\u00a0 You know the truth only when you feel it!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you feel it and it\u2019s a part of your bones, who\u2019s going to talk you out of being you?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If we are in Christ, we have been made new creatures!\u00a0 Old things are gone!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Your past is harder for you to get over than it is for God to get over.\u00a0 Get over your old self, that thing is dead!\u00a0 You can be happy if you\u2019re really you in Christ!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You are not a product of that union anymore!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">God doesn\u2019t want you to just have the Holy Ghost, he wants you to have it abundantly!\u00a0 That is when he is saving you!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Let\u2019s humble ourselves and be blessed!\u00a0 Give in and be happy!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What we are reading is true!\u00a0 God did something!\u00a0 Know what God has done for you!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">God is alive!\u00a0 He is doing things!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The most precious thing in life is fellowship in the light!\u00a0 It\u2019s more precious than gold!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">God has thought about you!\u00a0 He wrote your name in the Book of Life before the world began!\u00a0 Then He made the world for you!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We messed it up.\u00a0 Then He sent His Son to fix us up, and one of these days, he\u2019s going\u00a0 to catch us up and get us all out of here together!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">That\u2019s what we celebrate; that\u2019s what we\u2019re here for!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you\u2019ve got the holy Ghost, you\u2019ve got something to shout about!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">No matter what happens, compared to the holy Ghost and the promises of God, everything is \u201cso what\u201d!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">That promise gives you joy that\u2019s beyond everything this world has to offer because it gives you a hope beyond what this world can offer, that hope is sure!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u>PJ prays- \u201cSave us from everything this world has to offer\u201d<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mercy rejoices against judgment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Goodness is having a heart like God.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The whole world is deceived by esteeming rightness above holiness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Everybody needs the holy Ghost and to be full of it.\u00a0 That\u2019s the only relief from rightness and wrongness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus said to me, \u201cGo ahead and try to make a mess I can\u2019t fix!\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Many of God\u2019s children have been talked out of righteousness through logic and human reasoning.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There is no amount of logic that is going to get you full of the holy Ghost.\u00a0 You\u2019re going to do the will of God; you\u2019re going to repent and walk uprightly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And then God, against all human logic, is going to fill you up!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus only did what His Father said.\u00a0 We want to do what our Father wants.\u00a0 By the grace of God, just do what our Father wants us to do without regard of the judgments or the misunderstandings and the sympathy of our relatives \u2013 and the slander of our brothers and sisters.\u00a0 Let\u2019s just do what God wants done.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The wisdom of God is foolishness to men.\u00a0 The wisdom of men is foolishness to God.\u00a0 Now whose wisdom do you want?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Learning to walk after the spirit makes you a real child of God.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It\u2019s not having the holy Ghost that\u2019s going to save any of us if we don\u2019t follow it!\u00a0 Following it is what gets us home!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The cloud will take you home if you follow it!\u00a0 God is our home!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We have much to be thankful for!\u00a0 Jesus has found us and claimed us!\u00a0 Let\u2019s stay in his fold!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you want to serve the Lord, you will pay a price.\u00a0 There is a cost.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cAll who are willing to live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Everybody who walks uprightly before God is going to suffer.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">*It matters to God how you feel*<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Knowing that \u201cthe trying of your faith produces patience\u201d teaches you to wait on God because He\u2019s got a good idea.\u00a0 He\u2019s got a plan for your life.\u00a0 \u201cBut let patience have its perfect work that you might be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus is not the light of the world, we are!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Love is the fulfillment of the law.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Your can force people to be a Christian; you can be talked into it, bribed into it, manipulated into it and persuaded into it, but this is you and God!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I can tell you about it, but I can\u2019t touch your heart.\u00a0 If Jesus touches your heart, THANK HIM!\u00a0 If the Father chooses you to be forgiven, THANK HIM!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Your will is not worth damnation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The fear of God is good, is clean, is precious!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The holy Ghost is your ticket home.\u00a0 Hold on to it!\u00a0 Live by that ticket.\u00a0 Have it in your hand when the train comes.\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019ll be standing at the station with my ticket in my hand.\u201d\u00a0 The train is coming!\u00a0 The ticket is real!\u00a0 Don\u2019t miss that train!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">God\u2019s righteousness is internal and eternal; it\u2019s communication, it\u2019s fellowship, it\u2019s a kinship with God\u2019s feelings and thoughts.\u00a0 It\u2019s what the Spirit brings in.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When you entered into a covenant with God you made a deal:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">What God agrees to do:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Forgive and blot out all of your sin so that it is though they never existed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He gives you a new past<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The holy men in the scriptures are your family tree.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He engrafts you into His family.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He recreates you as wise and holy sons and daughters of God!\u00a0 Brothers and sisters of Jesus!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He cares for you throughout this life and then forever.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He gives you a new past, a new future, and a new present.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He\u2019s prepared a new earth for you so that you might live forever in perfect health and peace.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You agree to your part:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Be your new, clean, happy self!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He gives you a whole new being and all you have to do is be!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you keep your part of the bargain and be your new, clean, happy self, you\u2019ll live forever.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you know who you are, then you live without fear and condemnation by those who think you ought to be something else.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We honor Jesus by NOT following in man\u2019s footsteps.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Spirit is sincere; it came so we don\u2019t have to act anymore.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In this covenant ceremonies are not accepted; acting is not accepted.\u00a0 He sent His Son down here to suffer and die to stop the act and give us the reality of it, and that is precious to Him.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Get out of the act; get out of the symbol and get into life!\u00a0 The Spirit is life!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">No ceremony is going to raise you from the dead!\u00a0 It has no power!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you have the holy Ghost, you\u2019ve got life with Christ and God.\u00a0 That\u2019s the big deal!\u00a0 That\u2019s the important thing.\u00a0 It\u2019s up to God if you have life or not, and if you\u2019ve got life you\u2019ve got something to be thankful for!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We are a mystery to every person in the world who doesn\u2019t have the mind of Christ.\u00a0 But we\u2019re not supposed to be mysteries to ourselves.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re living under a new covenant!\u00a0 We are supposed to understand what God has done for us!\u00a0 We are supposed to know ourselves.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Son has been revealed to us; we\u2019re supposed to know Him.\u00a0 To know what He\u2019s done for us!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Growing up in Christ means growing in the knowledge of God, and that includes coming to understand yourself, your new self!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Your soul is on the line!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If anyone worships the Father only in spirit and truth, as Jesus said, he is condemned as a false worshipper.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If anyone teaches Paul\u2019s gospel, he is condemned as a heretic.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If anyone is moved by the holy Ghost, he is scorned as being \u201cunder a spell\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If anyone does the will of God from the heart, he is condemned as an evildoer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If anyone truly confesses Christ, he is cast out and ostracized by Christians as unworthy of their company.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We may have to suffer a little for Christ in this world, but we know what to do \u2013 just keep doing good!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you follow Jesus, somewhere along the way, he\u2019s going to amaze and frighten you!\u00a0 You just keep following him and somewhere down the road, you will start to see what he\u2019s seeing and feel what he\u2019s feeling, and then you will amaze and frighten somebody else!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jesus was happy!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We can be filled with joy!\u00a0 Persecution comes with the package.\u00a0 \u201cMy father said, persecution is like a tail on a kite, it keeps you steady so you can go higher.\u201d\u00a0 We all need the tail on our kites.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All that persecution can do is help us go higher in Jesus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Suffering comes with the package.\u00a0 Don\u2019t take the gift then hide it.\u00a0 Confess it!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Let\u2019s go to Him!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Suffering here is nothing compared to the glory that awaits us!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey Pastor John, Today I was cleaning out and organizing my desk and ran across some notes I had taken when we we&#8217;re doing the Matthew study.\u00a0 I know it&#8217;s long but it is so good.\u00a0 It encouraged\u00a0and blessed me today so I wanted to pass it on.
