{"id":16007,"date":"2026-01-02T20:17:16","date_gmt":"2026-01-03T01:17:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=16007"},"modified":"2026-01-05T20:18:25","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T01:18:25","slug":"being-still-and-being-filled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/16007\/being-still-and-being-filled\/","title":{"rendered":"Being still and being filled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Good morning Pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Happy New Year!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I loved\u00a0last\u00a0Sunday&#8217;s meeting.\u00a0 I was trying to get my mind to be still while walking\u00a0my dog\u00a0this morning.\u00a0 As I was thinking,\u00a0&#8220;I want my mind still so I can hear from the Holy Ghost,&#8221; a thought came to me:\u00a0 &#8220;Why do you watch the same sermon over and over again?&#8221;\u00a0 I thought,\u00a0&#8220;It is because my memory is not what it used to be and I want to remember it.&#8221;\u00a0 Then the thought came to me,\u00a0&#8220;It is to get it into your heart.\u00a0 Your heart is not that little thing in your chest;\u00a0it is much bigger.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There are chambers inside of chambers where\u00a0people\u00a0hide pain, sin, and many other things.\u00a0 Good things as well.\u00a0 It makes up who\u00a0we\u00a0are.\u00a0 So, if it is in our heart,\u00a0we\u00a0do not have to remember it because it has become\u00a0us.\u00a0 Bad things\u00a0we\u00a0have hidden in our heart, even things\u00a0we\u00a0do not remember,\u00a0influence our decisions.\u00a0 When you find yourself asking,\u00a0&#8220;Why did I do that?\u00a0\u00a0I don&#8217;t want to act like that,&#8221;\u00a0it is\u00a0because there is\u00a0something in your heart that is quietly influencing your actions,\u00a0and maybe you do not know what it is.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So,\u00a0God&#8217;s\u00a0Spirit in me is having me fill all of those empty chambers that the bad was removed from and filling them with messages to love and live by.\u00a0\u00a0And if I keep piling good things full of light in my heart there will be no place for the darkness and it will flee!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I wanted to share this before I get lost in the day and forget.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Thank you so much for all the good food you feed us!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mark W.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning Pastor John, Happy New Year!
