{"id":16009,"date":"2026-01-04T20:23:43","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T01:23:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=16009"},"modified":"2026-01-05T20:41:24","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T01:41:24","slug":"the-day-of-atonements-and-the-two-sin-offerings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/16009\/the-day-of-atonements-and-the-two-sin-offerings\/","title":{"rendered":"The Day of Atonements and the two sin offerings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hi,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I have a few questions related to Leviticus 16 pertaining to the sin offerings:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Aaron completes the two atonements via the blood of the sin offerings<strong>\u00a0for himself\u00a0and his house<\/strong>\u00a0(a bullock), and then for the congregation of the children of Israel in the Most Holy Room (blood of a goat; Lev. 16:5-6, 11-12)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Aaron offers the blood of the sin offering for himself\u00a0<strong>and his house<\/strong>\u00a0in the Most Holy Room<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What do the\u00a0<strong>coals\u00a0<\/strong>and incense of the bullock represent that were between Aaron and God? (16:11-12)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The incense would be the prayer of the saints, right? (Rev 8:3)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>I expected this verse to say \u201cashes\u201d, as in the purification rituals; but, since it is coals, the only verses I see related to atonement with coals is Isaiah 6:6-7.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">=========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>We know the incense in Revelation represents the prayers of the saints because the angel told John they did.\u00a0\u00a0That was the daily incense Aaron offered on the gold alter before the veil in the tabernacle.\u00a0\u00a0This incense may be different.\u00a0\u00a0We would have to have another revelation to know if it, too, represents the prayers of saints.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">=========<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Then, Aaron offers blood for atonement of the sins for the congregation of the house of Israel with a goat<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The goat is slaughtered after the bullock, and there&#8217;s no ashes\/incense requirement described in this offering on the mercy seat.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">=========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>No ashes\/incense was mentioned in that part of the text, but God did tell Moses that Aaron was to do with the goat\u2019s blood \u201cjust as he did with the blood of the bullock.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0So, I think it is safe to assume the same process was followed.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">=========<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If Aaron represents Jesus as our High Priest and Jesus made atonement for sins with the first sacrifice for himself and his house:\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What part of his kingdom is Jesus making atonement for specifically with\u00a0each of these offerings?\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Is the first one for the new covenant saints and the second one for the old covenant saints (or is the the first one is for the Gentiles and the second one is for the Jews?)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">=========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>First, let me point out that although Jesus was without sin, that truth does not mean he had no need to offer blood for himself as well as his \u201chouse\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0As I show in\u00a0God Had a Son before Mary Did, (<strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/goingtojesus.com\/gtj_books.html?tname=fands\">Going to Jesus.com &#8211; God Had A Son Before Mary D<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">id<\/span><\/a><\/strong>) the Son of God felt acutely the sinfulness of the flesh he had taken on.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Secondly, Aaron had to sprinkle that blood for his house because he was going to die, and someone from his house would have to succeed him as high priest.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus will never die, so in that case, the blood was offered before God entirely for himself.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>And lastly, \u201cthe people\u201d would refer to everyone who belongs or has ever belonged to God\u2019s people, whether in the Old Testament, or before it, like Melchizedek, or now, in this eternal covenant.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">=========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Perhaps I have dug a hole that I need to jump out of immediately, or I&#8217;m completely misunderstanding the shadowing context here, please let me know!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Thanks,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Wendy<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">=========<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Those are very good questions, Wendy.\u00a0\u00a0Thank you for them.\u00a0\u00a0Keep reading and thinking about the Scriptures;
