{"id":16056,"date":"2026-02-11T19:06:28","date_gmt":"2026-02-12T00:06:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/?p=16056"},"modified":"2026-02-14T19:09:40","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T00:09:40","slug":"the-parable-of-talents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorjohnshouse.com\/mailbag\/16056\/the-parable-of-talents\/","title":{"rendered":"The parable of Talents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hi pastor John,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It\u2019s been a while since I messaged here.\u00a0\u00a0I just wanted to share these verses in\u00a0<strong>Matthew<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>25: 14-30<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0It is the\u00a0<strong><em>parable of the talents<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0In this parable,\u00a0there was a man who gave talents to three servants and rewarded them according to their works and said this\u00a0<strong><u>\u201cwell done good and faithful servant\u201d<\/u>\u00a0<\/strong>to the two faithful servants,\u00a0which is the goal of every believer.\u00a0\u00a0There was one servant who was afraid (perhaps\u00a0of\u00a0the judgment of others) and hid his talent and didn\u2019t work.\u00a0\u00a0The Man who gave him the talent said\u00a0<strong><u>\u201cyou wicked and lazy servant\u201d<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>\u00a0then<\/u><\/strong><u>\u00a0<\/u>he was cast into the outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I believe God gives talents to His children.\u00a0\u00a0If I say to my friends and family that I have the Holy Spirit,\u00a0but they don\u2019t see my life transformed by God would they believe?\u00a0\u00a0We identify the people who have the\u00a0Spirit of God by their fruits ( how they live).\u00a0\u00a0If I say I have\u00a0the Spirit of God\u00a0but I don\u2019t work,\u00a0then how God can say \u201cwell done\u201d?\u00a0\u00a0I believe we live in a wicked world,\u00a0but if we are child of God,\u00a0then who can be against us?\u00a0\u00a0And if the\u00a0Spirit living in us is greater than who is in the world,\u00a0then why\u00a0would\u00a0we hide\u00a0or silence the\u00a0talents that God has given?\u00a0\u00a0Because in the end, it is God who will judge\u00a0us\u00a0according to the works we\u2019ve done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Matthew 25:29<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance<\/strong><strong>;\u00a0but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Thank you for all your work.
